Ref for the Derby

Do you agree that most of the comments in this thread are embarrassing? Do you seriously think they have any foundation? If you do, please explain why. What referee would you have liked? As whoever was chosen, some people wouldn't have liked it. That's not an indictment on our fans, it's an indictment on the standard of referees we have in the Prem.

It was Chelsea mate.

@micknick which banned kopite was he previously?

Clattenburg tomorrow.. Dean Monday

Would it be any better in reverse? Oh well, stick a tenner on us losing both games..you can get nearly even money on both.. easy £40 back to drown one's sorrows.

If that Dean story is true why isn't someone doing something about it?

Dosent matter at all, we play well we win, we dont we lose, simple as that, last night Clattenburg didnt really do anything wrong despite all the crying, in fact he played a great advantage for us a lot of refs would of stopped for a free kick and according to arsenal the corner we scored from wasnt even a corner.

Ignore them as you wont get a decent answer because there isnt one.

He's banned now, his head is upon my wall.

He must be retiring soon, cos this is what they do. He's never reffed a Merseyside derby so they'e giving him one now before he retires.

To be fair he is a Tranmere fan. He's reffed games I've played in a few times, he's a good ref. He has a very 'by the book' refereeing style, he's known for it within the game, it's all letter of the law stuff with him, which is why he seems more strict than some other refs.

We're not "too nice"

We're just not utter scum

Don't want us to be a Chelsea or a Man U, but we just need to get in the refs face a bit more Mikey, an example being Rojo's tackle on Gana where we just stood there with an acceptance, it was a terrible challenge and we should have made the ref aware of that. I actually reckon the ref didn't give him a red because he thought it wasn't that bad because of our reaction to the tackle.

There's a big difference

One day I arrived in Goodison Very early as 1 of the kids was desperate for the Toilet, anyhow ... The officials were warming up & jogging back and forth across the pitch directly in front of us, as the set off from the Paddock/Bullens Rd side I said "here you are kids watch this" ...

as the got close I shouted "REF !!" to Howard Webb, the 4 officials looked at me & I waved a tenner shouting "Go on Howard take it, there's nobody here to see it," he gave me the 'you fffffff...' look but next to him was Mike Dean who looked at him, looked back at me and put out his hand shouting "here, I'll have it," I instantly replied with "It's only a fiver for you cos you're on the line" he was actually the 4th official so he was doing well with my fiver offer tbh.
ANYWAY...
That was on the Saturday & during the following week he was the Referee in the Stade de France for Ireland's play off against France when a certain Mnsr. Henry got away with a little use of his hand.
Now I'm not 1 to cast aspersions on the character of Mr Dean but he had his hand out to me for a bung only a couple of days before.

I giggled at this part lol
