Perhaps Nolito may not be an option after all.

Perhaps the surprise is that he is still there at all. In the summer, there was the chance to go to England; a huge contract was placed before him. “So why didn’t you?” Nolito was asked this during an interview on Al Primer Toque radio show last week. “Because it’s cold, it rains a lot and the food’s bad,” he replied. “Besides,” he added, “I’m happy here. Why would I change? I earn enough money. My family is poor [originally], I’m poor [originally], and I’m happy with what I’ve got. What do I need more for? Greed rips the bag.”

I wonder if Juan Mata would be available?

If he is we could probably get him for 20m although wages might be an issue.

If we could he might be a perfect long term replacement for Pienaar.

Not a hope in hell even though I'd love it. He's a class act. Unfortunately he's a class act who's on £140k.

He doesn't track back, does he? Would be quite a side with him and McGeady on the wings.*

*Although McGeady seemed much improved vs Swansea

Wants to stay in London...Arsenal or Spurs ...maybe.
Mauricio from Sporting Lisbon .....taps nose .
Boss name as well Mauricio di Nasimento.

No he doesn't, as a kiwi, trust me, he's been talking with Liverpool, so location isn't his issue.

Do you think he is Martinez's type? Good defender however never really thought of him as a play it out the back kind of CB but haven't watched him that closely.

Yeah he's got really good ball skills, started as an attacking right back before moving to the centre of defence at West Ham. He'd be a great addition.

That was my concern too until this year. I knew he was a very good defender, but had questions about his on the ball ability given the way he played at West Ham and for the National side, two primarily long ball teams. Both teams are now playing better football, and he's fairly comfortable on the ball from what I've seen.
Very good defender approaching his prime.
