One of my first ever gigs was the Tom Robinson band 1979 at Trinity College Dublin.
Absolutely top class, Mr Davis can knock out a decent tune aswell like.

Rumours are that that song started out as "Dirty old Leeds" after ray watched an Everton v Leeds Utd fixture at Goodison in the 60s.....

That rumour that it was based on Merseyside is true - there was an interview on Radio Merseyside a few weeks go where, from the horses mouth, he confirmed it - they were persuaded by an outside party to change it from Liverpool sunset.

Apparently spends a bit of time up here.
