6 so far considering we're offloading/going to offload all the right players it seems and are actually (for the first time ever it seems) actually looking at strengthening ALL of the right areas. This 6 is based on the possible players who look close to coming in as well though, i don't think i'll go higher than an 8 though by the end, because i can't see us getting in a necessary keeper or a striker as good as i think we need.

Lets be quite frank here, if (and it remains a big if) we have Usmanov levels of cash at our disposal and it's spent over the next two windows I'm talking over 50 million net in each) Koeman will be expected to be competing for the title. There's a lot of if's and buts in there mind!
This is actually difficult.
Schneiderlin is a good signing. Plays a position where we have a need, has serious PL pedigree and we got him at a reasonable price... BUT he should have been done and dusted by the 4th, in time to play against Leicester in the cup.
Lookman, I have no idea about. Happy to wait and see.
Niasse off the payroll is good news, but obviously it would have been even better if we could have actually sold him for a few million. Same goes for Cleverley.
So far it's a six from me, but I have high hopes that we'll reach the end of the window with further deals done.
I'd like to see Gibson and Kone leave, and obviously McGeady too. If all these, plus Niasse and Clevereley, had been sold and we'd raised £20m, we'd all surely be ecstatic.
If the right players are available at the right price, I'd like to see either a #1 keeper come in OR a top-tier CB to partner Williams. We only actually need one or the other in this window because a strong CB pair can improve the keeper's performances, and vice-versa. We also need another goalscorer - either a credible backup for Rom, or a starting-standard #10, or a starting-standard winger.
If we make further big-money transfers (for instance VVD or Sigurdsson, both of which I regard as highly unlikely) then I would want to see sales made in order to free up space on the payroll and to recoup some money. An astute balance of spending and selling is FAR more encouraging than a huge net spend.

I don't worry about having to sell players for the bank balance anymore. I like that the players we're seeing linked with moves away are the ones I want gone.
The problem is right now is I'm not sure where my level of expectation should be under this new regime. As I said to begin, Kenwright shaped my definition of a good window. I think we're going to hopefully be fighting with teams above us for signings in the hopes of catching up to them, but we'll be fighting at a disadvantage against those clubs in most cases for signings. Which means the reality of the situation is we might fail in a lot of transfer pursuits going forward. We were always constrained by our budgets before and with that nearly removed then other factors will come into any player's decision. We can do our best to sell the project but it is going to make evaluating what is a successful window hard from the outside.
As usual I'll judge the window after the window based on how the signings perform. My opinion of the summer window has been affected by Bolasie's unfortunate injury. Gueye has been great and Williams has been our best center back. I rate Stekelenburg over Joel as well. I imagine the Moshiri project transfer strategy will be like City's recent attempt to break into the top four since the Arabs took over, buy the better players of the teams around you and weaken the competition by securing their signings over the top 4 with better chances to start and better wages.
The difference between us and City back then is we will be held to a slower rate of investment and squad turnover because of FFP. They had some hits and misses along the way but what mattered is that they were continually going up the table and increasing their profile to sign better quality players.
