Thought you all might like this - the goals from Everton's 3-1 home win over Man Utd, from Boxing Day 1985.

At the time, there was a tv black out of First Division goals/highlights, due to a dispute with BBC & ITV. It was only resolved at the start of 1986.

These goals were taken from the club's own in-house video of the game, hence being from the Main Stand camera gantry, facing Bullens Road:

We had to go by coach as there were obviously no Boxing Day trains, but we couldn't find it afterwards as the police had moved a load of Everton coaches due to it kicking off a bit before the game. We ended up getting a bus to Crosby then walking home to southport from there.

I'd only once seen them goals again before now, on a coach (probably Amberline) to an away game as someone had a dodgy video of all the seasons goals and he stuck it on.

Thanks for posting and bringing back some happy memories!

Great header from Lineker for the second and Sharp's wasn't too shabby either
Sharpys second was made by the speed of Inchy latching on to the second ball and whipping the ball back in straight away -- no trapping it and looking up to see who might be around. The sign of a great team is when they do things without thinking, knowing exactly where their team mates are going to be.

I think that is the game that lineker was finally accepted by the fans. It was hard for the fans to lose Andy Gray. Think Linekers initial goals (not sure how many but quite a few) were all headers.
