RANGERS

Pleased Celtic got back to winning ways midweek and putting that blip on Sunday behind them. Think Armstrong (despite his goal) and Simunovic (SP?) will be sold in January.

As for Rangers (Sevco) I think Pulis would do a good job. Murty has done okay to be fair, beating Aberdeen twice was unexpected and they smashed the Sheep! Fair play! Somehow, they ended up beating Hibs (Even though they didn't deserve it) but they lost all momentum losing at home to St Johnstone.

Celtic on course to clean up on the domestic front. I much prefer Celtic over Rangers, on account of the bullish, angry group of Rangers fans I met in a pub at the Lake District. Once they knew I was English they started singing GSTQ (Which was funny at first but after singing it for 10 minutes straight it become a bit weird) They told me how they're the most successful side of all time. When I talked about my club (Sunderland) they just spoke over me and went back to rantings about how they hate Celtic, Scotland football club, Aberdeen, Chris Sutton, Labour, Police, sprouts on their Xmas dinner and whatever else I missed out. They were odd and very angry. I wasn't sure if they were being passive aggressive towards me or if they were just having a laugh! Was delighted when they finally left as they were getting more and more loud and spilling drinks etc. That's just a bad experience I'm sure, 99% are probably sound ;)

Been up to Celtic Park a good few times and my personal experience is very good. Much more open-minded and less aggressive. Had no bother at all in my 5 visits (Twice when they played Sunderland in a friendly and 3 Champions League nights as my dad is a fan) However, I'm not daft, there's obviously a few idiots amongst their ranks too (I'll not get into politics as the mod has previously warned against that) and there was minor skirmishes when Celtic played Sunderland in a pre-season friendly. So, there's good and bad in all support really.

Ideally, I'd like to see Rangers stronger, for more excitement but ultimately I want Celtic to prosper over Rangers. I won't lose any sleep if Celtic get beat though.

Pulis would have Rangers getting back to basics and would bring out the best in mediocre players like Windass. They need to drop Alves though - Guy is finished and turns slower than the Titantic!

Murty gets the gig 'til the end of the season, decent appointment in my opinion.

If they’d wanted him from the start or looked like they knew what the plan was , they’ve merely stumbled to this appointment. Looks a mess to me , like if unsworth had got it except Murty looks a bit more talented at the job.

I think so yes.Once McInnes left Rangers stranded at the altar, this was always the most likely and viable option.Graeme has the next few months now to prove himself.Best of luck to him.

Dave King is going to need to find 11 Million from behind the couch after that court ruling

Well a guy on the Rangers facebook page said (and he was being serious) that this whole thing, is being overstated by the media.Delusion or not, i'll go with what he said.

It's the equivalent of an Unsworth appointment really without the threat of relegation.

However, it's got to be said Rangers are a million miles off Celtic, it's like Torino to Juventus stuff.

btw @larbert toffee seeing that you are such an obsessive about grammar.I might make a new years resolution to improve it to your satisfaction. But in general i think my posts are fairly legible. It's not as if im submitting a school assignment now is it?

I must admit, I too get annoyed with poor grammar/spelling. I think I have OCD. My grammar isn't flawless, but my pet-hate is people who get 'Your' and You're' wrong. I'm constantly at war with my work computer system (I work from Royal Mail) which, for some bizarre reason has American spelling. So, when a customer is complaining that the Postman/lady has urinated up their wall, I have to respond via letter or email, so I start by saying "Dear Sir, I sincerely apologize about this". My keyboard simply refuses to accept 'Apologise". Drives me insane. Not of this relates to you, you probably have better grammar than me, just wanted to vent mate - Hope you don't mind.

There's also a new girl next to me who I'm coaching who is awful with grammar. We're supposed to use templates to make it easy, but she prefers the 'personal' approach. I had the fantastic job of checking her message.

"Dear Sir,

im sori about this problem, well feed it back to the manageer to get this sorted"

"Not bad Sharon (name changed to protect identify), but I think we'll go back to templates" - Was my polite response lol

Anyway...Back on topic, very ironic that Boyd, who has been very vocal of his love of Rangers, has put them in deep trouble. I must say, he's had a fantastic career in the SPL. His goal record is superb. But, the fact he went to 'Boro in the Championship and failed miserably does reiterate just how poor the SPL is.

As a Celtic fan, I really didn't like him, (I also mocked him for the Rangers fans who were saying he was on-par with Larsson, which is a ludicrously stupid view) But, he seems a genuinely good guy and down-to-earth.

Poor result for Rangers, but I'll not kick them while they are down, as I still think they'll beat Aberdeen to 2nd spot. That young lad Mcorie (SP) seems decent. They really do lack a 'bite' in midfield, a Ferguson type. Without patronising them (Or @Cork Evertonian - Who seems a knowledgeable guy) they need an entire new team. Defence is very poor, midfield is lacking pace & power and they need a striker.

Celtic too have a defensive crisis mind you, so I'll not get on my high-horse.

Unfortunately, eventually, they'll get back to the top (football works that way) but I must say, I'm loving the Celtic dominance, as it won't last forever!

As usual, Sunderland's result has ruined the Celtic/Rangers scores for me!

Have a good night all ;)

Rangers are doomed to third place unless they completely change the way they operate

There just isn't the money there for them to buy success like they did in the past. That's now what Celtic do

They need to develop their own players, and that won't happen overnight

Their fanbase need to realise this and back off so the club can do this right in a sustainable way

The ludicrous expectations at the club keep the decision makers in a hopeless cycle of comparative failure

Finishing third with these players is not failure, it's par for the course

Supporters need to realise that this isn't their daddies Rangers, and that they're going to have to grin and bare some barren years for the club to come out the other side stronger

Yes I agree, but I don't like seeing the Old Firm win, so one of them appointing a manager who isn't fit for purpose is perfect for me.

Yes yes big problems at Rangers.Decent enough result for Everton though. @Safc-mark-91 I am enjoying your input on the thread so far.I don't mind Celtic fans offering their opinions at all.Oh and yes @larbert toffee Kris Boyd is indeed a Rangers legend. And now seeing that we are in the wee small hours of christmas eve, merry christmas everyone.
Did Kris Boyd celebrate his goals? Genuine question btw as I haven't seen the highlights yet.
