The "us and them" attitude is far more damaging to society than Lee Rigbys death. Moderate Muslims tried to put as much distance between themselves and that incident as possible. There are, I'm sure an awful lot of Muslims in this country who are appalled by the actions of a few and a lot wish to integrate as much as possible, as long as it isn't in direct contradiction of their faith.
On your last paragraph, what evidence is there for this exactly? How many Muslims are radical in this county and how much is that due to hate being preached?
