Question for you...

Selling our two best players in an over hyped market would give us £100 mill, Stones and Lukaku.

So what kind of stadium are we getting for that?

Granted it would buy two new stands, but they don't fit in our footprint, so it is back to the drawing board, find another five Stones so that we can maximise the sale and then buy a new stadium. At which point of course it has taken us so long to find ssaid players that the price of a new stadium has risen so much we couldn't afford it.

I think the question should have been player or stadium investment, which has been done to death anyway, unless we had Ronaldo and Messi in our team which selling them could probably finance a stadium.

Ah but if you think about it by not having Messi and Ronaldo in our team we're saving the money we'd spend on wages and we can now put that to a new stadium.

Ain't that about right @Ashtonian ?

If we had those to sell then we probably wouldn't need to sell anyone to finance a stadium.

But if they were both on four year contracts worth £25m each and we sold them we'd be saving like £200m plus their fees of say £150m each so we'd have £500m to get a new stadium and we could keep Lukaku.

With the amount of money in the the premiership at the moment we should easily be able to afford a new stadium. The fact that far smaller clubs have afforded new stadiums over the last 20 years and we haven't winds me up.

im not even arsed about a new shiny lego stadium with 10k more seats
i love goodison always will
i hate the idea of us playing somewhere else not arsed

lol that makes no sense. If they were valued at 25 million they would be what we have now, not world class players

Where's the - players we could of sold if we owned them - money Bill?

Think your forgetting the sheer amount of wedge those two would of bought into the club, that would of covered the sums you refer to though, probably enough prize money, sponsorship and sky revenue to of bought a stadium as well tbh.

There will be no new stadium under the current board governance. Any new owner would be of financial wherewithal such that consideration regarding selling players to fund a stadium would be moot.

First ask yourself who have built a stadium and then how big.

Yes we could afford a new stadium with the current sky money and it would be a fantastic stadium, but only 20000 of us would get in it.

For a new stadium of a size we need/want it is serious money. That is even more than selling our top two!!!!

Unless the club is taken over by new owners we are more likely to finish up like Leeds, Portsmouth, Blackburn under the
couldn't care less owners we now have, the future is not very bright in MHO, but I hope I'm wrong and continue to live in
hope, but I really have no faith whatsoever in Kenwright and his gang.
