Uruguay vs France

Brazil vs Belgium

Saturday

Russia vs Croatia

Sweden vs England

My order of preference (not what I expect or predict) of teams to win it all:

England
Croatia
Uruguay
France
Belgium

Russia
Sweden

Brazil

If I was putting money on it I'd go with France, Belgium and Croatia in the semis. I'd love to be confident England can make it as well but it's genuinely a 50:50 game. I expect us to be the better team against Sweden but as we showed last night, that doesn't guarantee a result. The penalties could have very easily gone the other way.
If England manage the first goal against Sweden they need to keep pushing on for a second to make it more comfortable and not sit back and invite the pressure.

Uruguay 1 v France 2 (aet)
Brazil 2 v Belgium 0

Sweden 1 v England 3
Russia 2 v Croatia 1

England were the better team last night but the problem is we really struggled to create chances. If we're finding that difficult against Colombia then Sweden is going to be a struggle because they're experts at defending. They've seen off Holland, Italy and Germany... They'll fancy their chances against us.

I'd be tempted to mix the team up. Sterling doesn't look like he's ever going to score and one of Lingard or Alli should probably sit out as they've struggled to have an impact on the game.

Their results against the 3 teams you've quoted are D-L-W-D-L so 1 win in 5 games. It was Sweden who helped keep Germany's chances alive, they certainly didn't see them off.
Yes, Sweden will definitely fancy their chances and England will fancy their chances too. It's definitely a 50:50 game.

If you look at Sweden's 4 games in the WC so far they have been second best in the last 15-20 minutes of every game so far. England need to exploit that and make sure we push them for the full 90 minutes and don't let them back in to the game if we get a goal.

It took a goal that was nothing short of miraculous against a German side filled with actual creativity.

Meanwhile, England's midfield is utter crap.

I like Croatia Brazil Uruguay and Sweden

Don't see Russia having it as easy as Spain made it. Croatia will threaten more. Belgium play way too open for Brazil not to score a bunch. I still don't think France have a plan and got bailed out by Argentina being worse. Uruguay know their game but Cavani needs to be fit. Sweden are similar to Uruguay with less attacking talent but the English have 2 goals from open play. I expect the Swedes to frustrate them and nick it

Going to be very difficult beating Sweden given their very good defence and England's lack of creativity and shots. It has got to be his main priority to sort that in the next 3 days or the best we can hope for is another penalty shoot out and i dont fancy our chances of winning another one.

Brazil v Belgium looks a good one. Brazil should win it but Belgium can score goals and they are probably going to need to score a few of them to beat Brazil.
