...A top 4 club comes in for him. That's basically why i made this, what constitutes a top 4 club? Everton are 4th, lets say we scrape the barrel and can afford him, doubt it would be accepted. Man u/city/chelsea and thenn..? Gotta imagine Liverpool would be out, but what about the team that finished fourth last year ABOVE Chelsea in spurs?

Apologies if in wrong spot, just was wondering what everyone thinks would constitute a top 4? Should Everton finish there or above would we be one of the top 4?

its all about money
falcao moved to athletico madrid for 33m when they finished 7th in la liga and scraped into the fist qualifying round of the Europa league.

If a team like newcastle put out 15m they would get shawcross its as simple as that,

I think we're fine with our CB's.

I dont,.

Jags has improved but he is not at his previous pre big injury standard and has lost a yard of pace
distin looks past it more and more often this season
heitinga is to inconsistent
duffy doesnt get enough game time to judge him.

after we have recruited a box to box centre midfielder, a cb should be next on our priority list although i can understand why some people want us to sign a good keeper to challenge howard (the last bit is for a different thread).

I don't actually rate him. I think he's prone to being caught flat footed too often. I don't think his level is anything other than top half Premier League at best.

There's always massive hype about young English centre-halves, but I think United already have the two best in the country already at the club - Smalling and Jones.

Not much of a difference between Shawcross and Jagielka really. In fact, I don't think there's much difference between Shawcross and Duffy either!

Luckily, there's no way we have the money or the inclination to go for him. We spend transfer money much smarter than that.

Yeah. He's not a bad defender, fits in well at Stoke but can't see him doing well at any top team really. Maybe Europe but no way Champions League.
