I know it's all nonsense, but it sure would be nice if he started playing like a £20+ million player again.
You don't think he has been this season? There aren't too many right backs I can think of who I'd rather have right now. He hasn't been quite at the level he was a couple of years ago, but he's still comfortably one of the best around at both attack and defense.

No, I don't think he has, and the statistics support that (posted in his performance thread). I love his energy and enthusiasm, but something's been missing since he tore up the league two years ago.

Small sample size and all that -- he's only played four matches this season so I trust my eyeballs more than statistics at this point, and he still looks to me like one of the best fullbacks in the game. If the statistics still show a significant dropoff after fifteen matches or so, that might mean something, but until then it's just noise.

I'm by no means writing him off, I would just love to see him get back to his highest level, that's all.

Holy moly since when did Talksport become credible?
Since @the esk appeared obviously. Thin end of the wedge if you ask me. The Echo will be carrying @chicoazul 's previews next.

I think people forget that Coleman is actually 26, due to his late start in the game. For that reason I think his chance at a big move is gone, or almost gone, so he'll have to suck it up at a small club earning a fortune. Or leave on a free to Man U at the end of his current deal. Whatevs.

The Goodison club have been fighting off Chelsea’s attempt to sign John Stones, rejecting four bids – the last for £37 million.

Now, German giants Bayern are set to join Paris St-Germain in a battle for Coleman.

Meanwhile, it’s now thought Chelsea would have to increase their offer for Stones to £40m - plus a player - to tempt Everton into a reluctant sale of the England defender.

But right back Coleman, 26, is also in demand with the transfer window closing on Tuesday.

Everton have rejected an inquiry from top French club PSG, but the word from the continent last night was that Pep Guardiola’s Bayern were preparing a bid of £18m.

The Daily Star Sunday understands that Coleman has been on Bayern’s radar since the January transfer window. Everton, meanwhile, still insist Stones, 21, is not for sale.

They have also turned down a transfer request from the centre back, who can also operate at right back.

But the Goodison club could finally crack if the bidding reaches £40m and a player like midfielder John Obi Mikel, 28, or striker Loic Remy, also 28, was included.

Chelsea, though, don’t want to go that far, as they as they continue to eye a £70m deal for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 22.

Everton, meanwhile, are considering reviving their interest in Dynamo Kiev’s Ukraine winger Andriy Yarmolenko, 25.

A deal broke down last week amid claims of interest from Barcelona and Arsenal. Everton offered £15m, with Kiev seeking £3m more than that.

But Yarmolenko is stll available, which has encouraged Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

These media people are absolutely beyond belief.
