Had no idea this happened.

I remember playing Rangers and either losing or winning 3-2, and Li Tie scoring lol

And wasn't there trouble in 1995, and that's why we haven't invited Celtic back since?

Was that the game were Li Tie scored a belter from about 30 yards ?

Report of Nev's match on Toffeeweb seems to have been pleasant atmosphere with some slagging of Dunc but no trouble.

On the other hand another article on Toffeeweb says:

"at Dave Watson's testimonial match (late 1990s), Everton versus Rangers, a huge mob of Rangers fans stormed up Goodison Road attacking Everton fans and screaming at them "fenian bastards"."

Generally Celtic fans have gone all over Europe and behaved impeccably and have friendships with Villareal, St Pauli and the city of Sevilla - a bit like Everton in 84/5 in Rotterdam

Rangers by contrast did their best to wreck Manchester in 2008, Osasuna 2007 Villareal 2006 and Barcelona 1972 - they returned to Barcelona in 2007 and generated an open letter from the Spanish daily El Mundo which famously began:

PLEASE, DON'T EVER COME BACK AGAIN
Dear Rangers supporters- never come back to Barcelona again. And not because your players themselves aren’t a legitimate team. No, it’s not because of that- the Nou Camp frequently hosts teams who are lazy, boring, who only defend, who run and kick their opponents, and who shouldn’t be in elite competition. On top of this, Rangers merely defend, run at the opposition and play dirty. Their defenders are butchers, their midfielders, heavy-footed; and their strikers just stand there like the furniture.

But even apart from the footballing aspect, the best thing would be for Rangers never to return to Barcelona, because every time they do, they make a mess of the place. 35 years ago, you (the Rangers supporters) destroyed the seats at the Nou Camp. This time we have enjoyed no less than 48 hours of brawls, provocation, rackets, fights and common drunk women throughout the whole city, which you have fouled however you pleased....etc etc

I was at the Celtic game, they had all the bullens road. Rod Stewart sang at half time. Can't remember the score but remember their fans being bell ends.

It wasn't rod stewart mate it was a rod stewart impersonator lol

Still remember the moment vividly as he was the surprise guest on the pitch, and when he came on me and my mate mick started shouting that it was the Big Yin, we were both bevvied like, then he started belting out a song and we were like wtf its rod stewart

From memory it was a great atmosphere though was in the glad i think and the Celtic fans were sound as well

Not how i remember it. Celtic fans were bad bad helmets. Loads of battling and arrests.

Same with rangers.

I went to rangers away, when rooney played. Horrible atmosphere outside the ground and a few stabbings in the town from what I heard (didnt see it though). We was meant to stay the whole weekend but jibbed it and ended up going to blackpool.
