Pre Season

Anyone heard any rumours on where we are playing in pre season this year?

There were talks of us playing in Australia/New Zealand, but they've pretty much died a tough death, and there's talk of us being the forth team in the 'Schalke 04 Cup', in August, but that's subject to us not qualifying for the Champions league qualifiers.

I think the latter reason, is a pretty good gauge on why nothings been announced thus far, as we can't really plan if we don't really know!

Anyone heard any rumours on where we are playing this year? I went to the 3 games in America last season, can just see it being a Europe tour this year

Think a lot of the pre-season will depend on which European tournament and what round we will have to play the first qualifier mate

Come to Ireland - our League season runs from March to October so teams will be at their peak in July/August.

There was talk of us going to NZ earlier but just say on local OZ site that there will be a pre-season com in NZ with West Ham, Newcastle, Sydney FC and Wellington Phoenix. So looks like we are not going there.

Sweden is the training camp...

I can't see us traveling that much around europe.

I believe we are meant to be playing in Ireland, this was meant to happen last year but we ended up in America.

Ireland might make sense from a commercial point of view as well. We have a large Irish contingent in the squad, iirc the largest in the league, so why not use that to get more irish fans?

Could also tag on a couple of games in the USA with large Irish communities such as Boston or Chicago.
