Just wondered what peoples pre-match ritual is?

On the day of a match I'm a bag of nerves. For some reason I start to tremble, and sometimes I'm a bit short with people. If I am going to a match (I see maybe 8 - 10 live games a season) I'm even worst.

The only way I can calm down is to play some "chill music" as I call them - RnB, ending up with the Sound of Blackness and "Optimistic" which is really uplifting.

It psyches me up, but in the right way.

I tend to put on my Whitney Houston cassette and dance off a wee bit of pre match tension. Or if that fails i tend to be in the arl supporters club (crofts) by the Goodison sipping a few Guinness and looking at the lovely ladies that sometimes pop up in there wearing their royal blue garmonts (y)

If I'm going to the match then we leave nice and early at about 9:30. Have a nice leisurely drive over including a stop at a service station where we're inevitably the only blues! Get to our car park of choice for around half 12ish and wolf down a packed lunch.

Head over to the club shop and browse (well, as much as is possible as it's so busy) before paying for whatever has taken my fancy and getting a programme. Then into the stadium to watch the players warm up and then watch the match!

If I'm at home I'm either glued to the PC listening to the match or downstairs watching if we're on TV

Have a full english at aboy 10, get the spellow about 1.00 av a good few drinks an get in the ground about 2.45.......an sing the blues.

Or

If it an away game at the train station nice an early bite to eat on the way an in the pub for around 1 depends on were we are.

Breakfast, pub for a few ales and cocktails and Chianti's, straight to the ground.

For aways, like to have a look round the place if ive got time. Love the London aways, plenty to see.

Get up around 10.30am, have a bacon or sausage butty (preferrably the latter), then leave around 12.15 to get up near the ground for around 1pm, then go the Chepstow for a few jars before leaving to get the ground around 2.50pm.

Get up about ten have bacon, egg andtoast order taxi for 11.30go to town meet mates in what ever the designated pub is(usually 6-8 of us and we take turns picking pub)Phone son in law to pick us up and take us to ground get there about 2.30 son in law picks me up after game and home if we win I open a bottle of malt to celebrate if we dont open same bottle to cheer myself up(y)

old routine - included 400 mile round trip

Usually with Dad but sometimes with son (2 tickets in Lower Bullens)

Pick old fella up - get to ground about 2 hours before - walk up Spellow Lane, along Goodison Rd - get programme, sometimes go in St Lukes for sarnie/cup of tea/Hills to put bet on/Spellow for 2 or 3 (meet mate(s)) and/or cousin - or occasionally Wimslow or other/last cig for 2 hours/get in ground and watch game/take Dad home-check out other results etc....go home - the rest depends on mood (usually ok but bad result against [Poor language removed] team would affect it badly).

If away game - usually at home with SSN and website updates/radio etc. on - sometimes Dad relays Radio Merseyside if I feel like listening to it (perhaps more important games like Chavs away for example - as more confident in other games))
