Lost by one in the semi final this evening. Been ill for the past couple of days and filled myself full of drugs and ran my arse off. One player played for himself and destroyed his own team. French tit.

So first game of the season, only played 30 minutes each way. No injuries which given our team's aggregate age is nearly 450 is an achievement.

Won 3-1 and I bagged 2 including a backheel.

I played league football well into my 40s. I played on the same team as my son. He was on his way up from the thirds, I was on my way down from the firsts. We played for about a season he went up to firsts I continued down to thirds.
I played in a defence with a combined age of 170+, given the goalkeeper was in his early twenties and the fullback was a teenager you can see the other three didn't lack experience. We were beaten 2-1, I blame the referee.

So the 2015-16 season starts in 43 minutes for me.

Season #46 (including school football) and as excited as ever.

keep on keeping on esk.

played my last game in the over 35's league at 59y 9mths, won 3-1, scored the first. thought 'it won't get any better' threw boots in the bin...never kicked a ball since.
tbh not the big gesture it seems my new job meant I only got 1 in 6 Saturdays off

Played more minutes than a professional.

Had a friendly Yesterday Won 5-1
Had an other today Lost 5-4

That 140Mins I have played for.

And my season starts tomorrow got a game.

4-4 draw this morning, good comeback as we were 4-0 down after 30 minutes. We were helped by their goalkeeper going off injured. Scored one off the shins but they all count.

The lad got his 1st yellow card today ....

clean through & gets in box, defenders coming across so he knocks it on about 3 -3 yards & gets completely taken out, asks ref "why isn't it a penalty ?" "was a fair tackle" so he says "the ball was there and points 2-3 yards away" (all said in a calm way to be honest as well & not a rant) and he gets the book out ffs. At that point it was 0-0 and the lad was the last man as well so may well have gone off... ended up getting beat 4-1 ffs.

Wait and see now if the fine arrives but it'll be contested and also pointed out that we had to kick off late waiting for the ref who's supposed to be there 30 mins before, which also means that the team that were on after us were kicking off and now we'll possibly end up with all the late kick off times.

Which league is this mate?

In other news we won 5-2 today

First game for me in 2 weeks this morning. Great conditions, soft wet pitch bit of rain in the air. Old school football apart from the ball not getting heavier as the game goes on (remember those days:)).

Good game anyway, we won 4-2 with yours truly scoring two typical goals from no more than 4 or 5 yards out.

Just time for a shower then off to the Bolyen Ground for the last time (cup draw excepted).

Perfect Saturday

I don't play competitively anymore so I just play a lot of pick up. I am a soccer trainer for a travel league and currently train/game day coach for two teams.

My U9 boys record at the moment is W6-L1 with 2 games to go

My U11 girls are W3-T1-L3 with 2 games to go
