Post Stoke game, Stick or Twist?

We really do need Roberto Moyes or David Martinez.

I would be quite happy to see Moyes brought back as the defensive manager.

Could it work?

Something needs to change.

I'd give him until this time next year at least. We'll likely get lots of money from selling Stones and Lukaku in the summer and I reckon Martinez deserves the chance to carry on building the team with that cash. That said he needs to be more ruthless and less stubborn: if he doesn't address the goalkeeper situation for example then I will lose faith entirely. This season has been incredibly frustrating but we all know there is a good team in there, on that basis I'd give him time. As others have mentioned though, his is the safest job in the league atm.
At the same time though, with the squad we've got and from what we've seen in his first season the fans have huge expectations and at the moment it doesn't seem that Martinez can fulfill these. We can't keep playing an unbalanced team every game and we especially can't play Howard in the form he's in at the moment. I'm all for giving him more time, but change is definitely needed soon

Keep him. Changing now is risky. Review at end of season and if we get a new manager, give him the transfer window and the pre-season to work with players. If we end up winning either cup and if we are in top 7 that is enough progress. If not, board needs to hear a real plan for improvement.

Of course we should have high expectations. Got some cracking players and another couple of years together I reckon they could be something special. It's a pity we probably won't get to see that though. Totally agree with you on Howard - that was my point about Martinez needing to be much more ruthless if players aren't performing well.

Cant get over the loss today, massively disappointed, crucial that we can get up for the spurs game or it will be like last season all over again

We wouldn't gain anything from changing manager at this stage of the season
Sometimes you have to bite the bullet.
Martinez is taking us backwards.
If it was moyes taking us backwards with these players the majority on here would want him out.
We are just turning into wigan mark 2

Here I am at 46 - yet still felt as disappointed today as I used to as an 8 year old ( after Justin Fashanu hit a double in a 4-2 home defeat to Norwich 78-79 season!!) We play some outstanding football and after 5 hours of calming down and think wow what a game Stoke and ourselves have evolved to be entertaining football sides who are good to watch - I mean there have been some dour encounters in the past.
HOWEVER........ the results are just not matching the talent , I watched Rom trudge off and honestly what would you be thinking in his boots? His agent will have PSG ,Juve , Chelsea Man U City all on speed dial at the moment and can we expect hi to stay???
I always used to say I would be happy to come tenth if it meant we won the league/FA cup so hope this is the season that the defence can actually perform for three games - though stoke or liverpool in a final should we miraculously beat city looks scary.
Who would we replace Martinez with anyway???

We have no option but to stick with him but I certainly see no defensive improvement on the horizon. Not while we play 5 players who don't track or even seem to be encouraged to try helping the defense
