Possible Takeover

If your post is true, the press officer best start looking for a new gig...

I was just reading through all this and was thinking the same thing before I got to your post. Spot on mate. If the press officer has come out with this he was stupid to put his name to it because his head would roll. That is unless theyre planning to get rid of him anyway.

Haha. That cancels out the negative one I got for the post.

So the lesson here is, that you can be a prick, as long as you apologise immediately!! :P

The main lesson is as much as we argue here, we're all decent lads. The ones that aren't tend not to stay too long. That's what makes this a special community. (y)

can't see it tbh. be ace having the pick of players and a brilliant new ground but it seems to good to be true.

Okay I am not one for rumours about possible takeovers but I thought I would share this text I Just had from a friend of friend.

Philip Green the owner of Top Shop and Marks and Spencers is the real owner of Everton Fc. Bill Kenwright is just a front. Green has been in touch with a Chinese Industrialist for 9 months to sell the club and it is nearly concluded. It has come from the text senders friend Darren who is Everton's press officer. A new stadium in preparation, richer than Chelsea and as rich as the City owners. My work colleague used to know the press officer as he used to work with him elsewhere and I have asked him to get in touch if he can later on tonight. I'm not sure what to believe but had to post it.

Darren Griffiths? - don't think he'd be txting his mates with inside info. He's got a job to do. And it isn't press officer. Thats Ian Ross and Mark Rowan.

These "text" internet rumours are frankly abit of a joke.

Not that there is nothing in "investment" discussions. But before Kenwright does any INVESTMENT (might not even be outright take overs) - especially someone in China...

they'd need to do a full check on the person being legit, having both the capital and assets to back this up.

ESPECIALLY in China. (immunity from prosecution of Chinese citizens, or extradition too if it all went belly up).

We're not the RedShite, and don't get taken for mugs.

Reminds me of the pop song. " Here we go again"

Truthfully IMO given the current finanacial climate no one will be taking on English Football Clubs.

We'll have to dream of humping Charlotte Jackson instead then .......... doh!

Ahem ........... back on topic. :D

Aye lads, these BRIC economies are where 'its at' lids, i for one would love chinese investment, isn't that where Baron greenback gets Marks& Sparks gear from ?China and India will defo be the worlds dominant suppliers of manufactured goods /services sooner rather than later! There was a Goldman Sachs report from early 200's, which speculated that by 2050 these four economies would be wealthier than most of the current major economic well to do'ers.

I'd rather hover about 5th-8th indefinately with a shred of dignity than buy the league like Chelsea have done and Man City will do. **** it I'd rather go down. I'd have lost interest in football by now if Sheik Mansour had bought us.
