I saw this rumour briefly yesterday and thought to myself 'Why would a supposed Everton fan site put up such a tasteless April fools joke' so hoped there might be some truth in it as we desperately need a new owner with the collateral to build a new stadium and give Moyes (who will almost certainly go if the current board stays) the funds needed to push us on to something like were we should be.

They *thought* it was an april fools. The rumour started a week or so prior to April 1st -- they picked that up to lend some validity to it and unwittingly stumbled into a huge news scoop.
Meanwhile Bakhmatyuk has a google alert set for his name, saw the story and decided it would be a good idea.
