Positives from today

It is clear to me that rodwell should always play over heitinga in midfield. He pushed forward, got into threatening positions, had shots on goal. Largely helped by the big fro being back in the team. Mofro has great touch and composure for his size, and consistently broke up Chelsea attacking moves.
And despite the fact beckford needs to learn a few things, he had far more attempts on goal than Saha today in 35 mins. We look more threatening and took the game to them. Baines and distin fighting for player of the year so far. Thoughts??

Rodwell should play over Heitinga, and he should play over Arteta. What a different not having Arteta makes.

The best thing about today is that we did not simply fold and give up, but fought and fought. When Rodwell hit the post it could have been easy to think "this isn't our day, oh well, we tried" but we kept going.

Beckford is a gem. An uncut, unpolished gem, but he our only striker who looks DANGEROUS.

Beckford was great , today. Tries to lob Cech from 40 yds, gets a goal, skies a chance not long after ( had more time, should calm down a bit ). And, if Felli had put him through, he may have got the winner or skied it again. We'll never know.

And Leighton Baines is from Mount Olympus

Taking advantage of a Chelsea team that went ultra negative -

Ramires, Mikel, Essien in midfield. Ferrira for Bosingwa. They ended up fighting to keep hold on the 1 goal.

Fellaini was a big plus.

Agree completely. We looked a lot more solid going forward today with that midfield set-up (we didn't compromise stability at the back when gunning forward.)

REALLY liked Rodwell and Felli in the middle - class act today.
