The same report suggests that in addition to (apparently stalled) negotiations with Steven Pienaar and (apparently fruitful) talks with Tim Cahill, the Goodison hierarchy are also discussing new terms with Mikel Arteta.

I really hope he does sign. It will show massive skills by Moyes. I was worried a bit this season with his lack of games and big media attention to the lad. He could have gone with the hype and acted like a tool. He seems to have listened to what the manager has told him and took it in. Him signing a new contract will be awesome!
