Yeah your right, efforts are being made. But its a little hard to swallow when out of 86 players signed, none have come our way.

Those 86 signed means that its not difficult to sign players. Maybe Moyes has said he sights too high and he has been snubbed, in fact I would say that is exactly it. Kirkby obviously has been a factor, regardless of what people may say.

Fair point Dixie and agree with these comments, i think we have set our sights to high therefore need to go back to what has got us the success of the past few years. (y)

You're OK by me, Keverton. You've done nothing other than state your opinions clearly and without rancour.

For myself, I'm still waiting like everyone else but I'm not angry with anyone (well, maybe a little perplexed at the hostility towards BK and DM shown by a few...). I'm not calling for anyones head. David Moyes has done an outstanding job for us - the last two months can't take that away. Similarly, Bill has done his absolute best for the club - events of recent weeks can't change that either.

One thought I've not seen aired on here is that DM may be playing a clever game. As the deadline for window closure gets nearer, agents and players will start to change their demands as they see their chance for fees or better wages about to disappear. Maybe that's how we got hold of Yak last September. Could be that Davie is just being patient and waiting for a player or agent to blink first.

Agreed, he'd have liked to have got in some players by now but Tottenhams experience with Arshavin shows that the market for players is weighted in their favour right now. That might change next week

BK and DM are not stupid - I've every faith that they've made every effort possible - and I'm still hopeful that we'll get some developments before the window shuts.

TXB is right - we don't know what's going down. But let's have some faith in our manager.

Good post mate and agree with your opinions

Listen, we know [Poor language removed] all about what is going on atm(including u Dixie), so why don't you all shut it and get behind your team....

Cal , i appreciate your opinion mate but do you actually think we are [Poor language removed]. That is a very stong opinion. I dont believe so. I think signings will happen do you not. Do you honestly think that we will go past september with a single signature because that i just can't see. So with the new signings which i think will happen and the return of the injured players why can we not push forward and have a good season. It is not to late to rectify a poor situation. What would your opinion be if we sign say 3 -4 players next week. Would you still say we are [Poor language removed]. Yes the lateness of the signings is not the best preperation for the new season but it will be a start and then when we compare to squads around us dont think things will be so bad

Ok I will bite.

Jose Baxter and Jack Rodwell are two positives. Arteta finally taking responsibilities again is another positive.

YAY !!! (y)

Well done Ghost.

See? All is not completely lost.

Don't forget that Moyes is still our manager so that's a positive too. Some may view that as a negative but I don't.

I agree

Hurrah, we've agreed on something!!

*Looks imploringly at parent and asks in an angelic voice: "Can I watch TV now??"

:P

We are not [Poor language removed] yet, we are potentially [Poor language removed]. Hopefully the board, manager, Chairman etc can turn all this around and get some players in.

Sorry Ghost as that last post sounded a bit patronizing.

Seriously, there are some positives, though few and far between, to be seen in Everton FC right now.

We won't sign anyone mate.

I've watched Moyes' interview on Everton TV and that confirms it.

We are absolutely [Poor language removed].

That's got vBookie written all over it.

(Wait, crap, I put all my vBookie points for Everton to win this weekend. Sorry KingJoleon )

No worries. I think what concerns me more than anything, and this is a discussion I have had with the guy who runs nsno. There is something going on. I am hearing bits and bobs from people, and what I am hearing is worrying. I won't say what because most of it was said in confidence. But it is worrying, and we probably needed Carter to come in and steady the ship.
