Ghost.

Let's wait 10 days and then bitch and moan at the inevitable.

Alright?

Give it the 10 days or whatever it is until the window shuts.

I agree with you that things aren't right. But by judging by many of the posts on here, you'd think that many know EXACTLY what's going on when all of us haven't a clue.

Well its pretty bloody obvious that something is not going right. It doesn't matter what it is, Moyes accidently splashed Kenwright in the Lower Bullens gents, or Kenwright didn't add Moyes as a friend on Facebook.

But what we do know is we are going into one of the most important seasons in our history with a depleted squad, and about to take on WBA with only 9 fit senior players.

yes but we can agree that something is not right. The cogs are not well oiled and moving in the right direction.

I'm going to refer back to facts and figures, because they don't lie, I'm not going to rely on feeling, or the old "it hasn't happened yet" excuse. We are 10 days away from the window being slammed shut till January and we have:

16 senior players available, 1 of which has hardly played for us in three years and is injured till whenever. 2 others are also injured for at least a month. We have three competitions to compete in before January. The squad at the moment is not going to cope. What happens if Yak gets injured? I know its all ifs and buts, but that's what a squad is for, to cover when we need it the most.

We finished last season poorly, and that was due to a poor squad. Now its even worse, so when we are looking to push on, we are not able to do so.

Now facts and figures. 86 players signed so far in the Premiership. We have made none, not one player, nothing, nada, zip.

Is it because of money? well apparently not as both chairman and manager are quoted as saying we have money.

So is it because if third parties??? Well, every other club operates in the same dimension as Everton, and they don't seem to suffer.

Is it because of time? Well we have had nearly 3 months to sign players. In that time we have sold one for 10m, and not replaced him in the squad.

So please can someone tell me where the positives are? Why its not that bleak? Or shall we wait for 10 days and then bitch and moan at the inevitable?
Great post dixie. However my positives are that i believe we will sign the players, and i believe they will be as good if not better than the ones that have departed. Yes the oiled machine is not great AT THE MOMENT however i am of the opinion the signing will happen then we can concentrate on having a good season. Just dont think it's as bad as what others are making out mate. And if in 10 days 0 signing have happened then i will say guys you were right and we will struggle but i am of the opinion that will not happen. Appeciate your points though

...and absolutely NO ONE is disagreeing with you.

We don't know what it is however and I'm not one for speculating about things that are out of my control as they stand.

This summer probably could have gone much much better but it hasn't.

But until the window shuts, we can't say that we won't bring anyone in.

Ok, first of all we need more than a signing. Second of all, why do you think we will sign a player?

"There is nothing more to add too at the moment," he told Sky Sports News.

Tick tock tick tock...

the manager is saying he is desperate to bring players in. He knows it, we know it, so why are they not doing it. I don't really care about faith and what has happened before. I want the club to push on, and I want to know why it hasn't.

Yes mate i agree, but we dont know and will probably never know the answers will we? All this negativity that comes from the supporters affects the players, and we all know how important confidence is. I dont see the point moaning about it to others who cant give you the answer. If we sign no players are we going to spend the rest of next season on here moning about it? If it happens it happens, weve just got to get on with it and think positive

Well the details are not important to us, what is important is what we see on the pitch on a saturday. 9 senior players is dire, and with a heavy fixture list we are going to need 4 or 5 at least. In 10 days? That is going to be some pretty rapid dealings, but I just really can't see it happening. But it has to right? We have to sign one player, just to prove that it is possible.

But every day is a day closer to the deadline, and what was 1 month is now 10 days, and soon it will be 1 day, then thats it. 4 months of football, hoping to not get any injuries or suspensions.

Yeah my point tx great post. Dixie i agree with you things are not perfect however i also believe the signings will happen, if they dont then i will say i was wrong. Things are not [Poor language removed] yet we have time to rectify the situation even if not the ideal way, i just believe there hs been a little bit of a over reaction however i do understand why

So what should we talk about?

Well if that happens, and we don't bring in one player, then I expect that things around here will get worse than they are now.

Many people will be able to say, "Look, see, things really are in bad shape."

And they'll be right.

sorry dixie missed a S of signing. I think we need 3-4 players. However if i remember correctly 5 years ago did we not sign 4players on deadline day. Martyn, macfadden and kilbane and some body else. Why can't the same thing happen

Because mate out of those 4 that we did sign, only 1 did a job. The other 3 were a waste of time. The other one was Jeffers by the way.

You're OK by me, Keverton. You've done nothing other than state your opinions clearly and without rancour.

For myself, I'm still waiting like everyone else but I'm not angry with anyone (well, maybe a little perplexed at the hostility towards BK and DM shown by a few...). I'm not calling for anyones head. David Moyes has done an outstanding job for us - the last two months can't take that away. Similarly, Bill has done his absolute best for the club - events of recent weeks can't change that either.

One thought I've not seen aired on here is that DM may be playing a clever game. As the deadline for window closure gets nearer, agents and players will start to change their demands as they see their chance for fees or better wages about to disappear. Maybe that's how we got hold of Yak last September. Could be that Davie is just being patient and waiting for a player or agent to blink first.

Agreed, he'd have liked to have got in some players by now but Tottenhams experience with Arshavin shows that the market for players is weighted in their favour right now. That might change next week

BK and DM are not stupid - I've every faith that they've made every effort possible - and I'm still hopeful that we'll get some developments before the window shuts.

TXB is right - we don't know what's going down. But let's have some faith in our manager.
