Player Valuation: £10m
Ok guys we are all aware of the differant opinions people have on here about the club at present. However i believe things are not as bad as we make out. ie The club is not [Poor language removed]. You dont go from being a good club to a [Poor language removed] club or shambles club in 2 months.
Please help me out if i get anything wrong
From a fantastic season last year we have lost
1) Lee Carlsley - a player i really rated however a lot of you think we needed to replace in order to progress. Personally i think we will replace him. Mbia?
2) Andy Johnson - nothing more than a bit part player and again a lot of you thought good business. Again my opinion is we will replace him
3) Fernandes - OK should have got him but we did not however once again i honestly do believe that we will replace him.
Now if we replace these 3 people which i think we will we will still have to nucleous of a top side.
Money is there as we have made bids, granted not to the amount which the club values them but money is there.
The injuries we have had is just bad luck
These are just my opinion and if we sign 3 quality players in the positions i have mentioned i actually think when i step back and take a look at the bigger picture things are not as bleak.

Last season we saw Yakubu & Pienaar join after pre-season. They took well over 2 months to settle as a result. This was when we had a settled side available, a bigger squad & less injuries to key players.

Can you see what I'm getting at here?

Ok they joined aftet pre season both players went on to have a successfull season as did the team. Why can the same not happen this year? So this in itself is a positive is it not..

Eh, what part of "settled side available, a bigger squad & less injuries to key players" don't you understand?

If it takes new signings a minimum of 2 months to gel that's a prospective ill-prepared 10 games thrown to the myre.

Injuries happen in football so not to much the club can control about those. And my point is some points are being made that even if we get the players in next week its to late we have set to have a crap season i dont beleive so. I think if we get the 3 players to replace the ones lost we can have a good season. Its not to ,late to get the players in and have a good season as proved when we aquired yakubu and pienar after preseason last year. Also the 3 players lost were hardly essential pivital roles last year except carlsley. Im staying positive but at the same time understanding there are issues there however i am keeoing a balanced view and not saying we are [Poor language removed] but at the same time saying everthing is great as neither is true however i am keeping things in perspective

Theres nothing to be positive about in my opinion. If we do get some DECENT signings in (Moutinho is what I would class as decent) then they are going to take a lot of time to settle. I think now the damage is done, we are no longer attractive to a player. Its such a ridiculous situation that we've got ourselves in. Totally unnessassary and could have been avoided.

You say we are not a attractive proposition as a club. Yet moutiniho and mbia as well as smith have all stated they would like to come. So if everton sign 3-4 players next week which i believe we will do you still think we will have a poor season. And as in previous post pienar and yukubu were signed late last season and a successfull season was had. Why cant the same happen.

Also why do you only call moutiniho as a decent signing when in the past are best signings have been arteta, cahill, pienar, lescott. Maybe instead of reaching for the stars which does not seem to be working its time to go back to the tried and trusted which our continued success has been built on

Once again, an opinion, while widely shared, is not based on in any factual arguments.

This assumes that we know the following:

1) Every one of Moyes' transfer targets.
2) That every target to date has turned us down.
3) That every club to date has turned us down.
4) That every club was not willing to negotiate transfer prices.

...and so on.

Since none of us know what's going on behind the scenes, it's logical that no one can say that this transfer fiasco could have been "avoided."

If you have no idea how to conduct yourself on an internet forum & can't have a decent conversation by reading what other posters contribute then please post somewhere else. It's VERY frustrating.

The way i see things at present is that we have replaced carsley with rodwell and aj has gone. As aj was a sub for most of last season i think i would rather see progression from anichebe, baxter ot vaughn. Obviously not signing anyone yet is very dissapointing but the transfer window hasnt closed yet.
It wasnt long ago we signed marcus bent and tim cahil and i thought we would deffo go down. We finished 4th that season so before we all blow or collective brains out lets stop moaning all the time and have a bit of faith in the manager and players!

yes but we can agree that something is not right. The cogs are not well oiled and moving in the right direction.

I'm going to refer back to facts and figures, because they don't lie, I'm not going to rely on feeling, or the old "it hasn't happened yet" excuse. We are 10 days away from the window being slammed shut till January and we have:

16 senior players available, 1 of which has hardly played for us in three years and is injured till whenever. 2 others are also injured for at least a month. We have three competitions to compete in before January. The squad at the moment is not going to cope. What happens if Yak gets injured? I know its all ifs and buts, but that's what a squad is for, to cover when we need it the most.

We finished last season poorly, and that was due to a poor squad. Now its even worse, so when we are looking to push on, we are not able to do so.

Now facts and figures. 86 players signed so far in the Premiership. We have made none, not one player, nothing, nada, zip.

Is it because of money? well apparently not as both chairman and manager are quoted as saying we have money.

So is it because if third parties??? Well, every other club operates in the same dimension as Everton, and they don't seem to suffer.

Is it because of time? Well we have had nearly 3 months to sign players. In that time we have sold one for 10m, and not replaced him in the squad.

So please can someone tell me where the positives are? Why its not that bleak? Or shall we wait for 10 days and then bitch and moan at the inevitable?

Yeah what have i done wrong here other than stating my opinion. All i am doing is giving my opinion on a forum while taking in to account other opinions whrther i agree or not, Though it was quite a good thread with some good points. Maybe you dont know how to conduct yourself on a internet forum. And i wont post else where cause i think the site is the best place to discuss my opinions whether people agree with me or not and if you read my previous threads i beleive have always made good points. Oh i get it cause i dont agree with you i dont know how to conduct myself

the manager is saying he is desperate to bring players in. He knows it, we know it, so why are they not doing it. I don't really care about faith and what has happened before. I want the club to push on, and I want to know why it hasn't.
