We'll be fine after the international break I'm sure of it. We've got an easier batch of fixtures and have players start filtering back. Just give it time I'm pretty confident we'll still be top 8. I don't think there's 8 teams that are better than us over a season. I know a lot are in better form at the moment but when our players start coming back and we get going we'll be fine.

My prediction is:
1. Chelsea
2. City
3. United
4. Arsenal
5. Liverpool
6. Spurs
7. Everton
8. Southampton
9. Swansea

Mentioning the Europa League and its place in the Champions League for the winner next season, does anybody think that maybe El Bob has looked at the league and maybe, just maybe feels we've got a better chance of winning the EL than finishing top four. What would folk think if we finished 7th or 8th, but won the EL and got CL next season?

This would be chuffing excellent. It would also result in a massive cash injection which we could use to tie down core players into even more attractive contracts and reinforce the team very handily in a few key areas. Then we have a stronger squad, the core of which have played together/developed for an extra season, who are all buzzing because of CL, and can make a right go at top 4. I'd take it all day.

I would confidently predict that 99.99 of our support would cheerfully settle for 17th in the league if we won the Europa League.

;)

It's the double whammy we are all craving for.....to win sommat and make the CL.

I've been dissapointed more than worried so far but when you take everything into account it's quite easy to understand how we'v ended up in this situation.

1: Pretty poor pre season after a World Cup year. Can only trust Bobby knows what he's doing and we'll benefit later in season.

2: Very unlucky with certain goals and situations that have accoured.

3: rediculous injurys to key players.

4: Bit of poor form, combined with mistakes.

5: Tough opening fixtures.

We'll be back cooking on gas soon enough. I can't wait!!

Good point about Europa. We also have Oviedo back, who can give Baines a break when he needs it. Jagielka is looking much fitter, Besic showed that he is settling in, Gibson is still solid, and I reckon although Osman is not as quick as he used to be, he's still got an eye for goal and will get his share off the bench.
Loving the positivity but lets not go too far! For me Ossie is very much an emergency option these days. But you're right, Oviedo coming back is great. He's the nicest footballer in history and a very promising player too. Besic looks much, MUCH better than his first touch suggested and when we get all our players back & fully fit we'll be twatting teams off the park.

That would be amazing

I like this thread :D

I know below its all a bit 'If me auntie had balls she would be my uncle' - Leave it... But anyway...
Leicester - Bit of a last ten min switch off, extra 2pts if we didn't.
Arsenal - See above, great result if we win.
Chelsea - Freak result, scored 3 against a team that's gunna walk the league though!
West Brom - Win away, nuff said.
Crystal Palace - Meh... I will blame Bobby for this, I love him but he got it wrong that day.
Liverpool - Draw at Anfield after playing awful, would have took that before the game, add a worldy of Jags in the last seconds as a bonus to get the draw.
Man U - Pen missed and 2 world class saves in injury time stop us getting a result, again, played awful but still within a fingertip of getting a draw at Old Trafford.

League cup - Another... Meh!

Euro's - Top of the group after 2 games, one against the Wolfsburg, tipped as the hardest challenge / (2nd?) best team in the group and a point away (After playing absolute shoite) in Russia - Will take that.

Plus we all know the script with injuries, individual errors etc, but that is all behind us now, honest...

Onwards and upwards, All will come good in the next month or so, all will be well...! ;)

Now is the time to take the bookies on...20/1 for a top four finish at Coral, 18/1 Paddy Power. Southampton lower than that at plenty of places, Spurs lower by a distance.

Get on.
