Pol Pot, eventually ensured there was more food for the few that were left.

Pot Noodle ?

Great Britain - the Internet that allows us all to chat bubbles on the inter webs at 1 in the morning

Al Gore invented the internet...

French had Prestel for ages before we all had the web, kinda like teletext that you had a keyboard for and could communicate, leave messages etc. Terminals in post offices for those that didnt have it in their homes.

The Austro-Hungarian Empire and thus Nikola Tesla, who despite what Edison, Westinghouse, General Electric etc would have you believe
Invented Modern Electricity, The AC system. Plus heaps of other good stuff

The Conservatives Thatcher and Major who allowed me to buy my council house sell it for 3 x the cost price , made me redundant twice thus funding my emigration 20yrs ago next month

Edit;
Mining giant RTZ who scrapped the none staff / hourly paid pension scheme to save money and 'forced' us to go into the much better staff scheme.
They also had a scheme ( meant for staff and big nobs ) for fund employees children through Uni and had the good grace when pushed, really pushed to admit that no there wasn't a proper reason why Joe Blow on the factory floor couldn't apply.
Also had a reduced fee worker share buy scheme ( see above )
Not bad for an 'Evil Multi National'
Also again the Cons for having the whole share buy thing tax relief ( = free money )
got a bucket full of Gas shares as well
Filled boots big style, took profits, done runner.
