Positions that you DON'T worry about

I know that our squad has issues. Every squad does. But we have a few players in a few positions right now that are doing the business. Obviously this is subject to change based on form, injury, etc....

Howard - Has had a fairly solid year with a few blinders mixed in. He may not be the best keeper in the Premier League but I'd take him over quite a few on his day. Our starting goalkeeper is not a position that I worry about.

Jagielka - A rock at the back this year and our most consistent player. Has improved immensely in the short time he's been here. Man of the Match how many times? Our starting centerback is not a position that I worry about.

Yobo - Wait, what's that you say? Joey Yobo? Yes, he can make an occasional gaffe but what centerbacks don't? For the past several years, he's been a mainstay in back with several different partners. He's also rarely injured which is a big plus. I believe he's improved as well as I remember some matches a few years ago where he was downright awful. He hasn't had one of those in awhile. Forming a good partnership with Jags. Our other starting centerback is not a position I worry about.

Pienaar - Injured a bit more than I would like lately so I debated on whether or not to include him but when he's in the lineup, he almost always produces. No coincidence that our form slumps when he's out of the lineup. A good pro and a great buy by Moyes. I'm not worried about our left winger.

Honorable Mentions:

Neville - At right back naturally and on current form. Like to see more of it though. Last year, I wouldn't have put our right back position down as a position not to worry about. Credit to Neville for upping his game.

Osman - Improved over the past year and rarely injured. Still a bit lightweight and pushed off the ball a bit too easy for me. Need more possession and creativity from him. Doing better though so I don't worry too much when Leo is on the teamsheet.

Im quite happy with Howard, Neville, Yobo, Jagielka, and Pienaar. Then include the players who we really cant drop - Arteta and Cahill...

We really need to get another striker, and a winger - on either the left or right side. Left back, still not sure about Lescott...

And when Arteta and Cahill are on form and healthy, they'd easily be on that list. Same for Yakubu.

But right now I have a bit of concern about their current play.

Now yesterday's match went a long way to alleviating some of that worry where Arteta is concerned.

I'd now like to see Cahill and Fellaini continue to build an understanding in the middle of the park.

the positions in the first 11 i dont worry about ?

rcb , lcb ,

those 2 positions will always have a good player there.

all other positions often lack either......... balance , ability or cover.

The thing is with a fully fit squad I dont really worry about any positions apart from maybe central midfield.

What about if Howard got injured and Nash has to play every game?! Not quite the same is gravy is it.

Agreed.

And maybe another winger, to replace Osman on the wing.

I still worry about every position to be honest. If any one of those players you've mentioned has a stinker it affects us a lot, to the extent that our entire style of play suffers. We still haven't really got anyone that can just go out and win a game just by being ace. That's why signing players like Saha is such a good move I think, we need more of that attitude.

Saha's an amazing striker, [Poor language removed] class. He's got to be the most all round player we have on our books. Pace, strength and skill...

Agreed.

He can be abit wild sometimes though.

I think Yakubu has more composure and a better 1st touch.

He's a bit unpredictable, well he was when we first signed him anyway. The more games he's played the more I've seen how good he is. He's got class written all over him.

Did you watch the Spurs game? He was a joy to watch in my opinion.
