Got this today.

Just like most nerds in my age group, I was a big fan of the first.

Wow, is all I can say. The single player is hilarious (casting Stephen Merchant as "Wheatley" was an inspired decision), and the puzzles are mind boggling. But it just works. It's the perfect blend of simplicity and difficulty.

The co-op is where it's at, however. I played a few hours with a mate, and I've never played a game as teamwork-centric as this. Warning though, you need to play with someone you know, and someone who has a mic. Communication is everything. It's fantastic fun though, working it out together. Some of the puzzles in co-op require some outlandish thinking and ridiculous chain events which when they come together, will blow your mind. Valve have outdone themselves here.

10 companion cubes out of 10.

You hardly see people wandering the halls of my dorm anymore, but you do hear the voice of that damned computer, GLaDOS, around every corner.

At one point almost all of my mates had that as their ringtone. It gets bloody annoying!!

Quality games, though. They mix two incredibly underutilised elements into one videogame; comedy and having to actually use your brain.

Yes. Yes I have. It has devoured numerous hours of my life, but I still love it. The first time I heard that song in the credits I found it amusing. The ten thousandth, perhaps not as much.

Hehe.

Well Portal 2 is probably more quality than quantity, I will say. Maybe 15 hours max to finish the SP and the co-op. So maybe wait for a price drop, like, but don't miss it mate. It makes the first look like the experiment it was.

looks great! never played the 1st one but thought about it!

is it realy that great? honest now! or is mortal kombat better?

That's like comparing chocolate to a Ferrari ffs. They've got nothing in common!

I'm not a fighting fan, like, but that new Mortal Kombat looks pretty darn good, I must say. I'll be getting that when the price drops.

I'd recommend you play the first Portal, anyway. It makes the sequel a bit more enjoyable, and you can see if it's your thing by playing the original, for a much lower price. :)

Half way thru with Portal 2 now. Glad someone still makes games this compelling. Hope to finish it tomorrow. Co-op as much fun as the Single Player?

Weird coincidence. This dude was just telling me and my brother about this today. I played the first one and it was really fun. My brother and I will be getting the second one over the summer.

If you've got a good co-op buddy it's more fun.

Some of the puzzle solutions are ridiculous (in a good way) and require grand feats of teamwork. In addition, it's bloody hilarious when you've both got a mic. Like all good co-op games should be.

Just finished the co-op campaign with my mate now. WOW!

The last chapter is phenomenal. It is without a doubt the best co-op mode I've ever played. They manage to mix so many different mechanics into it, and have you doing some ridiculously complicated things... but it still makes sense. That's such an achievement on Valve's part.

Phenomenal game. Now to finish the single player!

Well they said that it will be amazing, and so it was.
Really glad for it, barely started though, but still very very very impressed!
