5 days ago I realised that I needed a PC, a cheap one, but decent. Basically I need to test web sites in IE6/7/8 - I can't do it on a Mac, and my old PC is just too old for the job.
I went to this PC/Laptop shop in Bromborough Croft Ind park. Open's at 10am apparently, so I thought I would have a flyer and get there for it's opening. Nobody was there and the shutters were down. So I went for a coffee, come back and somebody was there. I went in, picked the system I wanted - got the quote, and said I would return.
Today I had the cash in hand, quite looking forward to getting the machine, low and behold it was closed at 10am when it was supposed to be open. 10.15 am, still closed. So again I went for a coffee, came back at 10.45am and it was open. So I went in.
The store was deserted, nobody was about, no salesman (they are all basically young kids, around 18-25 - and proper geeks, so not really salesman at all). Actually this didn't surprise me because each time I have been in there, there has been nobody around to serve me and try and sell me something.
Anyway, after 15 minutes of me standing around, some kid came out looking clueless and vacant. I told him what I wanted, but as the spec had been reduced I wanted to know if I could still get the one I was quoted on - and he said that he didn't know and that he would go and ask.
10 minutes later I decided to **** it off and went home. I rang up to complain and told them that their customer service is a joke and that they had lost a sale.
They just said, ok thanks, bye.
I fully expect this company to be gone within the year as the recession is hitting these people and they don't seem interested in selling their products.
Anyone else other than Bruce (the estate agent story is a pearler) had bad customer service in this troublesome climate?
