Do we really need political threads here on GOT?

I must say I cringe every time I see one, and in my experience of forums, the 2 biggest things to stay well clear of have always been religion and politics, if you want harmony.

Politics? (n)

Afternoon x

Don't see why not, as long as they're approached sensibly, it was always the case for the first year or so and previously on TW then it's starting getting a bit tittish.

Thankfully a few have occurred lately that have been approached well from both sides despite there being strong views on the subject, as it should be.

BRUCE YOU BAD TORY BEAUT. BILL YOU DIRTY AGGRESSIVE REPUBLICAN.

Some people can't have a discussion about it without exploding and are unable to comprehend that others may have a view other than the one they hold, so for me the world would be a better place without it. But it's the few who ruin things for the many as is always the case.

with a general election looming....YES !!

Cameron will never convince me, but that bruce is quite suave and wears lycra, shower shots in my inbox could well turn me.

besides i listened to enough shabs re: obama

r) *Update* We will allow threads of a political nature, though any sign of the thread escalating out of hand will likely result in the discussion being closed. The key to avoiding closed threads is to respect other opinions when presenting your own.

End of thread I guess. :)

Yes, but please ban them big time after the election. Even the threads on here already are not debates, that includes what i've posted, so I'm as guilty as everyone else.

Imagine the love-fest if such topics were not raised, it is only possible to debate the size of the riot for when Hibbert scores for so long.

my kids know the score on that one, invade , carry the milky one around the pitch and party like it's 1999.

maybe even the top balc have got ticker tape at the ready, although you'd just hear all the tutting from above and see the heads shaking as they denounce him for being out of position.
I really thought he was gonna do it at Turf Moor, I swear my heart missed a beat and i did a dribble.
