We've dropped a total of 18 points this season after letting a lead slip. If we'd held on to collect even half of those points we'd now be ahead of City and challenging Spurs for fourth.

Fulham (A) 3pts dropped
Bolton (A) 3pts dropped
Villa (H) 2pts dropped
Birmingham (H) 2pts dropped
Arsenal (A) 2pts dropped
Birmingham (A) 2pts dropped
West Ham (H) 2pts dropped
Villa (A) 2pts dropped

Last season we kept a club record 16 clean sheets. It's only 10 so far this season, a 37.5% drop. I think part of the problem is that we're not as switched on defensively as we were last year- that could be contributed to Jagielka refinding his form, Howard suffering from fatigue through overplaying and Distin being error-prone. I also think that we're not as solid since Neville moved to rightback. As a defensive screen he was disciplined and closed people down quickly, whereas neither Fellaini or Heitinga are as mobile and they both like to get forward.

On the whole, I'd like to see us continue to play our football once we take the lead in games, rather than dropping deep to protect what we've got. It invites pressure on ourselves and ends up leaving the lone striker isolated upfront.

We've failed to score on 5 occasions this season:

Burnley (A)
United (A)
Liverpool (H)
Liverpool (A)
Wolves (A)

In none of those games were we overwhelmed. Even against United, they were fortunate to score the goals that they did. We've scored 3 times at Stamford Bridge, twice at the Emirates and twice at the City of Manchester Stadium this season. Why should we be afraid of anyone? For the first 20 minutes against Blackburn yesterday we looked like a real class act. Hopefully we'll continue to play the same brand of football next season and impose ourselves on teams more, rather than handing the initiative to them.

How many points have we gained after going behind?

And did we ever have the lead at Bolton? Thought we went 2-0 down, squared it then conceded a 3rd?

But yeah as chico said we just need to tighten the defence up and that should hopefully come from finidng a decent settled partnership at the back who can form a good solid unit.

In other words get rid of Distin.

I also think that we're not as solid since Neville moved to rightback. As a defensive screen he was disciplined and closed people down quickly, whereas neither Fellaini or Heitinga are as mobile and they both like to get forward.

Or maybe Hibbert is a much better right back than he's ever given credit for.

We got points after being behind against:

Tottenham (H)-( 1 point)
Chelsea (h)-3 points
Man Utd (h)-3 points
Sunderland (a)-1 point
stoke (h)-1 point
Wolves (h)-1 point
Wigan (h)-3 points

We also came from behind twice to draw at chelsea away and we were also ahead at one point in that game.
