6 + 2 Point Deductions

Our club is a farce, telling us they hadn’t done anything wrong first time around and then admitting their guilt. Then saying nothing and having the fans hearts broken. The problem with this club is that it does give a crap about its fans and it hasn’t for years. Peoples club, my arse.

We have been trying to unwind from the mess but as you can see if we had cut earlier and faster we would have been relegated as it would have meant losing another player we needed for our relegation battles. We've done wrong but we've been shafted by the PL changing rules regarding the stadium build and having two accounting periods judged in the same season. How can we adjust for the breach during the next accounting period if we don't know how much we have breached by.

either way mate we’re gone as a prem team

and wrong. Not over yet. If we go into administration then perhaps so but we ain't there yet.

In Everton’s case, stadium costs rather than player trading will be cited as the root cause of the overspend. The club’s net spend on players among teams has been among the lowest in the Premier League for consecutive years. Everton sold the likes of Richarlison and Anthony Gordon, but the cost of their new £550 million ground at Bramley-Moore Dock is blamed within the club for pushing them over the edge.

Allowable stadium costs have been a matter of fierce debate between Everton and the Premier League for years. When the club was hit with a 10-point deduction for the previous cycle, a major factor in the league’s case was that loans were working capital needs, which are not deductible. Everton will continue to maintain, however, that these payments should be classified as infrastructure costs and therefore excluded.

Although infrastructure costs are generally not applicable to Premier League profit and loss calculations, the competition has previously claimed associated loans at Everton could not be discounted.

So we're effectively making the same losing argument.

If you're an Everton player you're head goes down.

That's the big difficulty now.

We have to win and then hope points deducted aren;t sustained and then added to.

As a player that is a very difficult mental position to be in.
I think the original 10 points will become 6, then we may get an additional 6..

Unless they make a new rule that for every breach, the punishment increases..

Everton that. lol

Not sure what the Premier League’s reason is for these continued sanctions but it’s starting to feel like a vendetta at this point.

I wonder if it’s the FA bearing its teeth and showing it can self regulate with the spectre of independent regulation being mooted.

Seems easier to chase the likes of Everton and Forest than go after bigger clubs with deeper pockets and considerably more political power.

It’s difficult enough for the fans, the players aren’t fans and are on disgusting amounts of money a week. it’s us that suffer because Moshiri played in the casino with our credit card.

Hope we dont but if we do go down then imagine the last ever game at Goodison is when we are promoted back to the Prem .. Scenes! (as the young 'uns say)

Better than winning the cup that day would be, and lets be honest, given todays news, more likely!
