I'll start you off

"You'll see kidney machines replaced by rockets and guns" - Going Underground - The Jam

A Chilling vision of the future, way back then

not so much poignant this one but it makes me chuckle every time i hear it so it's going in anyway

a song by dundee band 'the view' called distant doubloon, there's a line at the very end that goes...

"so don't dwell upon your wooden leg, your ****ing limp is boring me"

First use of the word 'poignant' in a thread title goes to...

*fiddles with envelope..

MUTZO NUTZO!!!!

He joins us on stage with Victoria's Secret model and awesomely hot uberbabe, Gisele Buchanden!

You asked if I'd be anyone from history, fact or fiction, dead or alive:
I said "I'd be Tony Cascarino, circa 1995".

Even when you died, oh the press still hounded you, all the papers had to say, was that Marilyn was found in the nude.

Some good ones already - here's another one that springs to mind

Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing, Many many men can't see the open road.

and in that darkened underpass
i thought oh god, my chance has come at last
but then a strange fear gripped me
and i just couldn't ask

This one sums up how I'm feeling right now - this winter keeps dragging on and on

"You thought the leaden winter would bring you down forever,
But you rode upon a steamer to the violence of the sun.

And the colors of the sea blind your eyes with trembling mermaids,
And you touch the distant beaches with tales of brave Ulysses:
How his naked ears were tortured by the sirens sweetly singing,
For the sparkling waves are calling you to kiss their white laced lips."

They don't write them like that anymore

Reminds me of something I saw RFUS post the other day, so so true:
