The last thing in the world you want to see now is rumours in the Echo and media about us chasing Charles Nzogbia , all's it does is build fans hopes up , not mine because anyone who has seen any of my posts over the last fortnight knows , if I want a new shirt for Saturday night and I had £65 to spend you don't need A levels to know not to go to Selfridges or Flannells because there's no chance I would get anything decent , I'd save time and patients and go to H&M or River Island , I understand the club trying to sell season tickets and what not but this would only make things worse , If I see another report in the Echo saying we want better than Bothroyd or Shayne Long I will go insane , Kenwright is waiting for this Wayne Rooney type striker who has no club no competition with other clubs for his signature who will run through brick Walls for 35k a week it ain't happening:( , so any Evertonian out there who will turn there attention to Charles Nzogbia I will tell you here and now we have no chance so Please , please don't get your hopes up

I don't think Greg O'Keeffe knows anymore about who we are going for than your average fan on a forum, to be honest. He just seems very "not in the know". More so than previous writers for the Echo.

Remember he's banned from Finch Farm, that den of leaking stories from the horses mouth. All because he had the biggest political story todate about Green and for some inexplicable reason chose not to make a name for himself by not publishing the story. Everton have clearly badly rewarded him for not blagging. He is therefore clearly a crap journo.

Since sports journalism these days seems to consist of:
* rewriting interviews from other people
* plagiarising articles from other sites
* rewriting anything that appears on the OS under one's own byline
* player Twitter feed round-ups
* rumour round-ups
* complaining on Twitter about fans' objections to lack of decent coverage
it would appear that Mr O'Keeffe has no time for what quaintly used to be termed journalism. (I assume that he was trained as one at some point in the past.)

Not just him, though. The others who report/reported on Everton are all taking the piss. It was laughable last year that all they had to do to get banned from Finch Farm was actually report the financial accounts in the appropriate manner. They didn't do anything heroic or outrageous. And I bet since they've been crawling around the club again for access and promising to keep their noses clean.

The reporters who cover Liverpool follow a different - but equally nauseating - line in that they pipe up with criticism of the owners, because they're completely in thrall to the rent a mob fans who'd run them off the Echo and Post if they didn't do their bidding for them: think Chris Bascombe/Tony Barratt - who went native 100%.

Absolute slugs the lot of them.
