so, major cities are going to bid for certain games.

can i see paris bidding for bolton vs blackburn?

hows about madrid with a bid for newcastle vs portsmouth.

its difficult to see past 'european superleague' machinations, but in all fairness, where is the most likely destinations for certain games - manure to play whoever in dubai. i see that as a possibility.

also interesting today, espn are apparently looking to fight it out with sky for the next premierleague tv contract.

It can [Poor language removed] off. I live abroad and I dont want it to happen. It can be completely unfair and its just stupid. Greedy [Poor language removed] over there in England.

Just cant be arsed anymore, [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed] Fifa, FA etc, absolutely bellends.

I can't see it happening in countries that already have established football programs like Italy, Spain, Germany, etc...

The games, if they happen to be played abroad, will be played in places like Asia and the USA.

Everton Chief Executive Keith Wyness has described proposals for an international round in the Premier League season as 'very interesting'.

The Premier League announced on Thursday that all 20 top flight clubs had agreed to proceed with further investigations into the concept of a 39th game in the domestic league calendar.

The proposal will see each Premier League club playing an additional match overseas, with a random draw selecting the league opponents. The idea is aimed at further developing and enhancing the reputation and popularity of the Premier League overseas, with the games providing the same points on offer as a normal domestic fixture.

It is an idea the Everton CEO is keen to look at further.

He told evertonfc.com: "Obviously this is a very interesting concept but one which is at a very early stage and clearly to us warrants further investigation.

"Its imperative we always consider new options and this is certainly a new and interesting option."

No final decision on the proposal is expected until January 2009, with the additional match set to be added to the league calendar for the 2010/11 season if it does receive the green light.

Suprise, suprise wyness likes the idea because he can smell money!! I dont really trust him one bit.

Personaly im not against the concept, but i ahve a problem with the seeding and the way its going to be formatted by a draw and the top five teams dont have to play each other, which is just wrong. Dont you just know we'd get chelsea and the [Poor language removed] would get Derby and then go on to pip us by a point for the champions leauge. Its stinks of a system to keep the now top clubs, top clubs.

Also no more games should be added to the fixture list. Can you really see players playing extra games for free without mass contract renegotiations!

Apart form that im all for it!
