Playing out from the back

People wonder why some of us shudder at the prosepct of a change back to Moyes. One of his acolytes underlined what it'd be like today.

We cant re-embrace that nonsense. It's taken us 5 years to get shut of that long ball image that came in even before Moyes was here.
Nothing wrong with long ball long as it isn't your only tool.

I long for the days of 5 minutes passing round the back by Jags and Stones under Roberto before the opposition rob them and score a goal.

Whilst I know what you mean, it was nice to see people playing for the shirt again.

A bit of variety was long overdue; there are several teams whose centre halves will struggle with Richarlison and DCL.

I'm happy to see the long ball used if it takes some of the obvious pressure off Keane's first touch and passing - it will give him a chance to get some of his confidence back.

We had become far too predictable in the last season and mixing it up makes sense.
