Kenny Dalglish jeesus did I get that one wrong.
I remember telling my rs brother in law how crap dogleash was wouldn't make it at Lpool. Can't see him scoring in the 1st division. He lets me know he hasn't forgotten on a regular basis.
wins the getting it wrong award so far...forwards harder to guess than anyone though when they move. can think of one or two I got it right about in a blue shirt but most wrong.. I did tell everyone that Lineker was a lazy, lucky player and wouldn't score for us. was maybe wrong about the second part but will argue the lazy and lucky part to the death

James Beattie. Thought he'd be an absolute goal machine but all we got was a lazy fat [Poor language removed] who headbutted people.

I honestly went off him even before his first game (I think it was against Middlesbrough). Me and my brother went to the ground early on the day to hang around the players car park to get autographs as lots of people do. About 100 people were there and every single player at the time came and signed some autographs and took a few pictures.

Beattie eventually pulls up at 2pm, all the fans been waiting for hours for him in the cold (bitterly freezing it was that January day) and he just walks past everyone who'd waited hours for him. Record transfer and star striker completely blanks the excited fans. Never liked him after that even though I such high hopes for him.

We should have signed Dean Ashton from Crewe for a million at that time, what a star he would have been for us even Kevin Phipps was better than Beattie - I agree 6 million down the drain!

wasn't convinced by Beattie before we got him and was even more worried when people started to praise his professionalism and athleticism and couldn't come up with anything else. was definitely a question of spending money for PR reasons I think. big warning. Kevin Phillips is like the opposite, for some reason he just doesn't fit the bill with lot of people but has anyone done it so consistently for so many teams

The obvious one is coleman, at 60k seems like a bit of a barggggin, I Always rated pistone when we signed him I was made up. shockers for me were Lars Jacobson, Pers Koldrup, eddie Bosnar and James Beattie
