Players out on loan 2023/24

He suffered in the same way Browning, Galloway and even Holgate did. Rather than coach them in one position we played them RB,CB and LB. Completely killed their careers once we did this.
So they have poor resilience.

Are they mentally strong enough? Playing in different positions is part and parcel of a professional footballers life. Jimmy Garner doesnt seem to have let playing right back, right side midfield and centre midfield affect him and he is a kid too.

With good resilience and mental strength, they can put poor performances behind them and not let it affect their confidence and continue to grow and improve.

Or not, as the case may be.

Neal Maupay put Brentford 2-1 up away to Wolves on the Cup replay but they lost 3-2 in extra time. He played the full 120 minutes. 4 goals and 3 assists now.

Chesterfield went 12 points clear at the top of the National League with a 2-1 win over Altrincham. Harry Tyrer back in goal after the Cup matches and played the whole game.

Hopefully we can get a few quid for Maupay.

He’s not a bad footballer he just suits a certain system, which was never ours.

Good goal mind.

Neal Maupay played 73 minutes and scored the winner for Brentford in their 3-2 win over "Notts" Forest. He previously scored against Luton so not doing badly against our relegation rivals.

Mason Holgate failed to get on the pitch yet again. Worrying that he doesn't even get on when they withdraw a centre half who has already been booked (Harwood-Bellis today, Bednarek the other day). Saints won 3-1 at Yannick Bolasie's Swansea and go 2nd.

Chesterfield and Farsley games were postponed today.

Mason Holgate finally got a game for Southampton and played 90 minutes at right back in the Cup away to Watford. Got booked after 5 minutes when giving away the free kick from which Watford scored. Southampton equalised in the last minute to earn a replay.
Think he played in the last round at RB too, got to earn some of the 36 grand they paying him.
