Players leaving

True, but will Bill release enough funds to buy the players that are needed? Not sure selling Barkley, Mirallas etc is going net as much as would have last season. With the new TV money kicking in next year maybe he'll surprise everyone and actually spend some cash
We should have at the very least £30m from the TV deal + anything we sell.

I feel that there could be 1 of 2 problems here, either RM is just not good enough to play the type of his football he wants...or the players we need in the Mid positions are not good enough to play that type of football...

it takes more than passing to play that football it also take intelligent running, you cant play ball to feet every time. that easy to mark. the prem teams can see that all day. but what makes the tikki taka football teams so good is the space they use. we playing possession based passing football but so direct its obvious. it aint clever at the moment

With no European football and an awful league placing we're going to lose some of star turns this summer, it's inevitable.

Get ready for the fume......

Mirallas is off and wouldn't be surprised if Coleman and Stones went as well. I can't see Barkley leaving just because he's not going to leave England and he's not going to get into the Arsenal, Chelsea, United or City starting line ups and he'd be a fool to leave to sit on the bench. Arsenal will come in for McCarthy as they need someone like him desperately. I can't see Rom going just yet as the fee we'd be looking for is going to be £40 mil+ mimimum and only the massive clubs could afford that and he's unlikely to start for them.

No clue who we could bring in though at this point. Eurgh bloody Everton!

Think people are forgetting that we hadn't had Euro football for a long time and for most of the people in the squad, this was their first Euro experience with us.

So the whole "oh they'll leave without Europe" argument can only fly with players who signed with us under that promise. So who's that? Besic, Atsu and Rom? Rom is 21 and no one will pay what it will take for him to leave. I have no doubt he'll leave one day but not for at least 2 more season. Highly doubt Besic is going anywhere and Atsu isn't even ours.

Kev might well be off but I doubt the Europa is the main reason for that. Clearly something's up when he was one of our star performers earlier in the season and yet regularly plays between 0 and 20 minutes in games and clearly doesn't have the manager's faith. Which isn't a bad thing, after all Naismith at LM and Barry/Howard have Roberto's faith, so that doesn't mean much.

I couldn't care less if any of them left to be honest, don't like a single one of them. Gang of frauds.

If Moyes is back Mirallas won't go:rolleyes:.

If Barkley goes i'd be fumin'... especially after he said he'd hang around for a wee while. Get shot of Kev and Seamus for big bucks though would be fine. We've always sold to buy and I think that'd be shrewd business. Defo try and hang on to Stones, McArthy, Ross and Rom, spine spine spine. Rest can be replaced here and there

Only danger is Mirallas going imo.

Its the in comings that will worry me, as stated a cr@p finishing position and no European football will not entice the quality we want.

A kneejerk thread if ever there was one.
Most of our players are on long term contracts and if they are to be sold if it will for large transfer fees. Because it has been a poor season for most players I am not sure how many are going to enticed away.
I agree that Mirallas is a likely departure and if a club like Utd were to offer 25m for Seams Coleman it would be hard to turn down.
If somebody wants Lukaku I think at this stage you are talking 50m. A move for Barkley isn't likely this summer and it probably would not be good for his career.

Overall I think we will keep most of our players and will add to the squad. We have had a good run in Europe but have had one horrible night.
I think that next season is a big one for RM and his management team. There will be no Europa league, it will be domestic competitions only and he simply has to get us back into a top eight situation next term with a possible cup run or his situation will be in peril.
