Players banging the Allardyce drum

He'll be gone in the summer, retired managers don't come back for 18 months. The extra year he and his agent managed to swindle onto his contract is for the payoff, he has absolutely no intention of another year in this hot seat. However he'll only get that if the club sack him which they won't if he does well, is it a little cynical of me to think that he isn't giving the job his all to ensure he gets that massive payoff?

Ferguson announced he was retiring at United in 2001 but changed his mind and carried on until 2013.

True, yes. But out of all those crap players who do you think out of the Koeman x Walsh axis signed them?
Koeman being a former world class defence would have definitely been the person who greenlit the signings of Keane and Williams. Both highly rated in the league before we signed and Williams was heralded as a coup at the price we paid. He has since taken a rather aggressive downward spiral but that wasn’t to be known.
Bolasie, this has all the hallmarks of a Walsh signing. Basically, crap.
Pickford, Great signing, best keeper we could of bought. Great sell on potential, age, will improve etc. Probably a Walsh signing.
Rooney, Koeman met and wanted him. Been a success so far.
Gylfi, Koeman signing. Has failed to achieve some of his heights at Swansea but there is a player in there. We massively overpaid but nothing to do with Koeman.
Martina, dross but free. Koeman signing.
Klassen, Hasn’t been given a chance. I can’t see how he’s worse than what we currently play. Koeman signing
Ramirez, Hasn’t done it at all but hardly given a chance. Will sell for more than we bought as he was free. Not a bad signing. A Walsh signing.
Vlasic, bought on the back of us beating his team. Has ability but personally not a fan. Koeman signing who probably asked the board for him after playing them.

Can’t think of anymore although I bet I’ve missed a few. I believe the DoF is more to blame than Koeman himself.

We don't know who has the say so on transfers though. Do you believe Klassen to be a Koeman signing because they're both Dutch? What are the hallmarks of a supposed Walsh signing such as Bolassie? Just because Koeman was a world class defender it doesn't mean he definitely greenlit Keane and Williams.

Is there a system were both the DOF and manager have to both approve first team signings? Does the DOF have free reign to bring U23's in without consulting the manager? It's difficult to lay blame for a transfer unless we know who has done what.

Meaningless token gestures, nothing more than that. The first step that needs to be taken, in helping to rebuild this club is to get rid of both Sam Allardyce and Steve Walsh.Talk about what we should do in the future, and talk about the best way to move this club forward, is instantly rendered meaningless by the continuing presence of those two clowns.

Allardyce is a snakes oil salesman, who thinks avoiding relegation, is the limit of this clubs, and it's supporters ambitions.Hopefully we will promptly dump this buffoon, once when we have put any lingering relegation fears to bed.Who knows what the future has in store for us.But at least it will be a future, where the phrase Sam Allardyce Everton manager is past tense.

I think you can pretty much get who has brought in who by the comments after each signing. Koeman was buzzing when Klassen signed but I take your point.

My feeling is the players have probably been given the same set of instructions that the so called journalists at the press conferences recently have! Say only good things about the "current" manager and don't ask any difficult questions!
Hopefully then there's a little note at the bottom which says "cos he ain't going to be here much longer"!
The reality of the feelings towards him are only going to be made public once he's gone, which if it goes pear shaped this afternoon could be sooner rather than later. Either way he's not going to last much beyond end of May!

I said this the other day.

This is the only reason we have a full house every week.

A few years back we would be lucky drawing 20,000 to watch this crap.

Hitting them in the pocket is the only way to make them sit up and take notice.

Sadly even that option is denied us now because even if 15,000 season ticket holders boycotted a game or two they still have our money in the bank.
I think you're right. Also think that there is concern over number of people holding back on renewing season tickets for next year until they know BFS will be gone. The bigging up of BFS by the players will not fool the fans - they can say what they like (or what they're being told to say), but if the current manager is remaining next year, I, and am sure many other current season ticket holders, will not be.

Absolutely right Mr K! Years ago the stadium would have been half full at the most! Season ticket holders at the moment are facing a dilemma - do they commit and renew and risk the current manager still being in place next year, god forbid! However I do think the vast majority of season ticket holder will renew purely and simply because of the Bramley Moore Dock carrot being dangled.
Take away that carrot and leave this bloke in charge would result in attendances dropping like a stone once again!

Players do tend to like him. You hear it from loads of his former charges. Doesn't make him a good manager but he doesn't lose dressing rooms.
