Most players that Russian teams buy and we never hear from again until the WC comes around. Witsel is a good one.

Not weird in the same way I suppose as they're clearly motivated by money.

Falcao to Monaco was quite surprising, but again dodgy agents involved etc

Bolton have had a few down the years, with probably the best being Fernando Hierro. Also Edwin van der Sar at Fulham, a spell sandwiched in between Juventus and Man Utd.
