PLAYER SHORTAGE

wtf has what any of you have said got to do with this thread, post it in the other threads, the question remains, is there a shortage of top notch players and thats why when we dont get who we are rumoured with there is no-one else of equal quality.
i.e. moutinho bid falters, linked to bullard, kenwright slated and moyes basically told to walk by sections of our fans.
i will not have this thread hijacked unless it is of a nature that refers to top quality meat and pastry produce or scenes of a gratuitous sexual nature.
Apologies for being a hijacker. I dont think there isnt a lack of quality available. If we want the quality we have been led to believe (moutinho, love, bent etc) then we are going to have to pay big money to get them. The ball is in our park when it comes to moutinho, it is a question of the board stumping up the cash, and at the moment they seem unwilling to do that. They could easily move onto other players, johnson, tiago and fernandes have been linked in the midfield, but for whatever reason they seem unwilling to chase anyone.
The point i was trying to make earlier is basically that the running of the club of the pitch is diabolical, in every aspect, so i am not expecting much in regard to transfers in.

tbh it was more the other replies, your reply seemed to be the only relevant one.

1st time for everything. I'm probably too touchy now that life involves waiting till 1am to see if any of the online papers have some rumours of a signing. Can't believe that just last Sunday BBC were saying Everton are close to signing some players. By Monday one website had a story titled 'Everton go on crazy spending spree'. And here we are - 7 days later and nothing. No signings , no links to players and beaten by Blackburn. Must be the 1st club to go on a crazy spree and buy nobody.

but we cant be certain of any of that, they tell us they are in negotiations with clubs, it cant be bull 'cos the papers report comments from the other clubs. seems we are going after them, whats going wrong we dont really know, seems strange that the other clubs also dont comment on why the bids fail either, which makes me think that alot of them aren't yet dead, if we hiked up the bids like some suggest then we end up with 1 player who costs double our present record and the bloke we wanted to link him with we cant then afford. all of the other top players are at c.l. teams and dont see any attraction in going to a team in the uefa cup......even if they are in the premier league.
comments have been made about other clubs signing 4+ players, the fact of the matter is that they are of the calibre that we were looking at previously and now we are trying to break into the top 4 we are looking at players of a higher quality, would we have all been happy if we had signed some of the players that others have got this summer ? seems to me that if they have an exotic foreign name then the answer would be yes. a few have been using the "ok as a squad player but not 1st team" line , yet now that we haven't got anyone it's rant, rage, kenwrong etc etc so are they now saying we shouldve got these squad players who they dont rate as good enough for the 1st team ?
dont get me wrong i'm brassed off that we haven't got anyone but i think other factors have worked against us and dont go with this "they are a pair of [Poor language removed] and should both go " business that seems to be taking hold.

nice little speech there, but what OFFICIAL bids did Everton actually make ?

Moutinho was never official, Love was a mess from the start. M'Bia wants to come, yet Everton still delay making it official. The only one i can remember is Aaron Ramsey and that was after Man Utd and Arsenal both had a bid accepted.

If they don't get the right amount of players in then they should go, if they can't add any quality to the side then again they should go. We had a perfect chance to progress this season, there are lots of good players we could have signed would have improved the starting eleven and pushed us on.

It's quite clear that Moyes has either dithered or Kenwright hasn't given him the money. I think it's a combination of both to be honest.

There's no lack of quality, just lack of cash/ambition.

i think i shall refer to you as D1ck. you say cash/ambition as if they are the same thing.
we have ambition, lots of it, unfortunately if you have no cash then it doesnt matter how much ambition you have. i think there is cash or any bids lodged wouldve been exposed by the 3rd parties if we had no cash, imagine if we bid an amount when we haven't got the dough and it got accepted, would it not be leaving the club open to a lot more shoit slinging than there is at present ?
how many c.l. clubs are there ? are you telling me there's an excess amount of top class players knocking around in every position, or like i say,"is it cos they have exotic foreign names that means they must be brill" an example.... i saw wagner love play in a tournament for brazil, it may have been the south american comp i'm not sure, but tbh i wasn't impressed he couldnt hit his arse with a banjo, he had an absolute 'mare, missed endless chances some of which my missus couldve scored, on the basis of that comp he would be deemed 'a bag of [Poor language removed], not worthy of our shirt'

I don't what your getting at. People want us to sign Moutinho because he is a very good player not because he's has a exotic name. People want us to sign Vagner Love because his goalscoring is excellent and to be honest at the moment we don't have any strikers.

so if we didnt make a bid then how could sporting reject it ?
dont think love could be blamed on us if it was agents leading us on.

i'm trying and it is difficult to stay as positive as possible in the face of adversity, everything is hearsay and internet rumour, it's getting out of hand, people are planting seeds and like japanese knotweed it is multiplying at an alarming rate. to the point where moyes is being told to walk by people who 3 weeks ago thought he was the best thing since sliced bread.

Who's telling him to walk?

he's not playing in the prem he's in a [Poor language removed] league awash with russian oil money, where apart from 6 games a year he's playin against dross i mean who the [Poor language removed] are Tom Tomsk, Amkar Perm & Rubin Kazan. i'm not dismissing him as [Poor language removed] but i know i have seen him play a whole tournament where he was [Poor language removed]. as for moutinho my point is more that if he's a no go then there aren't other options of that quality.

no mate, they rejected verbal offers from an agent working for Everton to work out what sort of price they would get Moutinho for.

not once did Everton make an official written offer to Sporting.

Alot of players are [Poor language removed] for there national teams. The whole England team spring to mind as do alot of other names. Vagner Love is a very capable player, he has his strengths and his weaknesses but most of all he would improve this [Poor language removed] squad we have at the moment.

It doesn't matter what League he plays in, if he's got ability and the right attributes he'll make it here. There are lots of players in [Poor language removed] Leagues who are good players it's just about giving them a chance so that they can prove themselves.

There are lots of other options after Moutinho. Manuel Fernandes is one and he'd improve the team, Michael Johnson maybe, Tiago etc. I could name alot of quality midfielders that we could go for.

Is it really that hard to improve on players like Neville, Osman and Carsley. No its not, there are alot of players out there.
