Player Ratings vs Ull

These rankings may seem a little low at the defensive side because Hull was such crap they they could have taken naps back there.

Howard - 6 - 1 good save nothing else to do.

Neville - 5 - Didn't have to do much either. His final ball never seems to end up on an everton player.

Baines - 7 Nicely linked up w/ Arteta, Peanut

Jags - 6 Again didn't have to do much. Nice to see 90min from him.

Distin - 6 Solid again.

Heitinga - 8 - Always seems to be everywhere. Spreads the ball out well. Has been taking pressure off Jags and letting him get up to speed.

Osman - 5 - Didn't do anything bad or good

Arteta - 9 - Angry he didn't get to take the penality. Other than that awesome. Played some quality defense as well.

Pienaar - 8 - Best game he's had with Arteta so far.

Anchiebe - 5 - He had a decent cross and its unfair he has to go wide to RW when he's absolutely not a RW. However if Donovan was in the whole match we might have had 7-8 today.

Yakubu - 6 - Other than the fact I'd rather have Neville, Arteta, Donovan, Saha, Hetiniga, or Jags take penalites over him, he held the ball up well. Cross to Arteta was sweet.

Donovan - 9 - Had like 5 touches and we scored twice. Not bad.

Rodwell - 7 - Nice goal

Gosling - 7 - Some nice plays in the midfield. He's learning and getting better.

Howard - 6 - One good save and don't think he could be blamed for the goal, but wasn't tested enough to warrant any higher.

Neville - 6 - Fairly strong performance and produced a few good crosses.

Baines - 9 - Great game from Baines. Wonderful crosses and overlapping runs.

Jags - 9 - Isn't fully fit yet, however played brilliantly in defense.

Distin - 6 - Up and down game, however seemed always open to receive the ball.

Heitinga - 10 - Showed early on that he was willing to dominate the midfield with hard tackles. Allowed others to get forward with ease. Couple of great cross field balls. I know he has scored a couple of great free kicks in the past, but lets just leave them for Baines and Arteta for now.

Osman - 6 - Played reasonably well, however substitution came too early to allow judgement on how he would have affected the second half.

Arteta - 10 - Unbelievable. Even before the first goal went in you just knew he was going to produce something special today.

Pienaar - 8 - Very good assist. Played well when cutting inside. Thought he looked a bit tired towards the end.

Anchiebe - 5 - Nice hand in the goal, however took him a while to get going. In future maybe an impact substitute.

Yakubu - 6 - Poor penalty. Should have scored when he hit the post. However he did use his strength well today and also produced a wonderful cross for the first goal.

Donovan - 9 - Should be playing instead of Anichebe. Great goal and selfless assist. Today not only showed why we should sign him, but also that not only the fans want us to, but the players do as well (especially Arteta and Rodwell.)

Rodwell - 8 - Good goal and unlucky not to get one right before that. Noticed he has gotten much better at getting forward in recent weeks and he looked hungry to do that today without skimping on his defensive duties.

Gosling - 7- Wasn't on long enough to really make an impact, but the fresh pair of legs produced more desire and drive, as well as a couple of good passes and skill.
