Plastic banknotes to start in 2016

We had them in Northern Ireland years ago. Don't know why they stopped as they lasted a lot longer than the paper ones and it didn't matter if they got wet.

Yes they are. Why the hell would you want some crumpled, stained, daggy, ripped, bacteria ridden banknote when you could have a nice shiny clean perfectly maintained banknote?

Come on England, it's time to leave the twentieth century behind.

Used to be a thing I did, started as a joke, whilst Ironing the kecks prior to getting on the lash, I cleaned out the pockets first, full of coins and screwed up 1 pound notes and, being a bit anal can't stand that so I Ironed all my notes ( 8 or 9 big night ) lots of nice flat smooth cash.

Love the Aussie notes you can out them in the little pocket of your cossy go for a swim then dry off and buy a beer.

But then again everything is EFTPOS, swipe paywave or what ever you call it so no real cash in the pocket required
