Places to avoid

The town itself was hit very hard by Covid, however even before that it was degrading quickly. But, with the shipyard doing well, and seemingly getting stronger, hopefully the town will get some money injected into it. I heard that they are themselves looking to do some stuff to make it more attractive to potential employees that work on site, etc. May be BS but fingers crossed.

Grew up in Lindal-in-Furness, although spent more time in Ulverston, until we were going out drinking, regularly.

Never too far away from, what I consider, the best scenery in the country.

The West Coast of Cumbria, is all but overlooked by tourists, in favour of South Cumbria too.

It`s a bit of hidden gem, only really known to cyclists and people who live there, or people like me, who know people who live there.

Some cracking village boozers and places to eat too.

The Curzon was the go-to for that type of behaviour.
Seedy, seedy place. Shut down a few years ago I think

You could get a day membership in there, to get around the licensing rules as they were back then, when pubs used to shut at 3pm and open again at 5pm

Used to go in there on Pay Day Fridays, with all my office mates who worked in and around Dale St.

It was frequented by older gay fellas, who wanted to keep the fact they were gay private and perhaps were living a double life.

I always thought it was an okay place to spend a couple of hours until the pubs opened up again tbh.

Manchester does absolutely nothing for me.

I live on the Fylde coast. It’s a backward, weird, hate filled place filled with weirdos who think if they have a private reg plate they look impressive, massive coke heads, bad bad racists and the kind of place Reform will do well.

Avoid it at all costs.

Shame, some nice bits of coastline too.

Stevenage
Huyton
Bootle Strand
Southport

I genuinely have never felt so miserable as I did when I walked through Huyton.
