I originally wrote out a post calling him a helmet but I erased it swiftly.

Jelavic was special...until he wasn't. Yakubu too.

I still prefer Idris tho' if we're ranking on those terms as he's a different type of player who brings something to the table we've desperately needed, and only had previously in somewhat slower dynamics when Carsley/Fellaini played there. Plus already having Rom we don't miss peak-era Jela/Yak.

Long way of the season to go, but deffo early favourite for player of the season.

Jelavic at the very least never stopped getting in to good positions though, he just started spooning shots and missing everything. Always felt he could reclaim his goalscoring touch but it was never to be.

Yak was unfortunate he had such a major injury, that guy was a slotter.
