good thing he has the summer to recover, it could be a blessing in disguise as it might rule him out for the confederations cup so he won't pick up anything too serious
Apparently it wasnt to serious, hopefuly it will rule him out of the summer internationals though. I always worry when the Pie man get injured it usually takes him a while to get back into his best form.
Steven Pienaar has assured his national team-mates that he will be fit for their game against Iraq on Sunday after being forced to limp off the pitch following a ferocious Polish tackle.
“As you can see, my ankle is swollen, but I’m fine,” said the South African.
“What I need to do is to put it into ice and I will be fine. I will definitely be available for the game against Iraq (on Sunday at Coca-Cola Park), no doubt about that,” he says.
Pienaar reckons he knows why the Polish were a bit heavy on him. “Their coach Leo Beenhakker knows me from my days at Ajax Amsterdam. He used to be the Technical Director at Amsterdam when I was still there and he did warn me that he would tell his players to mark me tight, but instead they got a bit rough you know, but like I said I will be fit for the game against Iraq,” he added
