Pienaar

Pienaars agents done alright out the past 18 mths activity hasn't he ie % of Spurs deal, % of loan fee & % of the new deal,
I wish I could get so minted from giving bad advice.

i'm hearing a few SOS etc claiming he's taking a wage cut to come back to us? so 70k seems unlikely as he couldn't have been on more than that at spurs surely?

If,s and but,s really but if we had the money we could have broke our wage structure to keep him in the first place.

We did break the wage structure mate we paid Arteta a few thousand a week more than Pienaar had asked for & Arteta became the only player at the club paid more than the manager (who was also on more than Pienaar wanted)?

No idea about the wages but the fact there is talk of a 4 year deal makes we wonder if we'd spread out the money across an extra year to make it up ? Whether Pienaar has bitten any substantial signing on fee is maybe more likely

Fair enough mate . Like I say i cant say we did need the money but I'm 100% certain that people involved in the Yobo deal were operating under the impression we needed the money for the first Pienaar payment . in fairness to levy he agreed with us paying in installments when he had a cash offer on the table so it's hard to be too tough on him . If we ran out of time in January I'm surprised we didn't just complete when the window opened but I take it that's where you say levy changed his stance ? I just find it a massive coincidence that Pienaar was done with him allegedly travelling up but then Yobo fell through and it went quiet but once Cahill went it was done within days.
We had something agreed in January, he went back on the initial agreement to try to get more off us, turning down straight cash payment is irrelevant because the player himself had only the intention of playing for Everton in the coming season, putting Levy in a position where he would have to pay the wages of a disinterested player for the coming season.

Yeah see that mate but I just can't see everton having levy off personally , if you look at the fees spurs demand and usually earn I'd be staggered if we'd out of a series of meetings having had the better of levy in a transfer negotiation. I think the Bentley illustrates better than most that he'll leave a player to make a point (which actually pays off in the end in other negotiations ). I also heard a rumour that levy was discussing putting a time limit on this and telling pienaars people if it wasn't done by a certain date he wouldn't sell to us.

All I know is Pienaar has taken a paycut and forgone his signing on fee. Rumour is he also told Spurs that he would waive his loyality bonus (As he didn't hand in transfer request) in order to get the deal done. So if all true, fair play to him.

I believe we already had money for this signing and this signing alone. If we were to sell Yobo, that fee combined with Cahill money, would be enough to sign Moyes next target which is Landon Donovan. If that happens then great, but I think signing Naismith + re-signing Pienaar is a great summer for us so far, even though I'm disappointed to see Cahill go, I believe all things gone well, he will be back on loan in January where he will be fresh and able to make a positive impact for a couple of months. If we sell the likes of Heitinga or Anichebe, that will give us the kind of money to make a play for Dempsey, whether he'd come here over Liverpool is another thing, but if we have Landon and Tim Howard playing for us, it would not surprise me one bit to see him here, if we have made the sales I mentioned of course. That's the exact situation as I understand it.

Forgive me for saying this mate, because you sound like quite a decent chap, but Ive heard so much JARG this summer im not believing this for a second. Not because I think its unrealistic, plus I have a proper man-crush on Landon because of how boss hes been in his two stints with us, but I am now committing to not getting excited until the deal is done.

I think hed be brilliant for us. and with Ste' Pi on the left and Donovan on the right, I see a balance to the side that we havent had in years... I just think that theres two many ITKs on the internet, who are about as In the know as the guy who writes the rumours in the Daily Star and The Daily Mail.

i do hope your right though as:

Donovan -- Gibson -- Rodwell -- Pienaar

Fellaini

Jelavic

is top 4 stuff in my humble opinion!

COME ON YOU BLUES!!!

Top 4 of what?

What was AC Slater doing at Finch Farm?

Does this have anything to do with the delay announcing Pienaar signing? How many more 48 hours before he is unveiled?

Will we struggle to get this deal to go through before August 31st, or will we be saved by the bell?

players are a lot fitter these days and he could quite easlier go on to 34. Look at Distin, Scholes, Giggs etc. Also better to have him for 4 years, then loose him again in 2 years

i'm not itk mate, this is just info that I have gathered from chance meetings and internet discussions with people who definitely know what they're talking about, I have no regular inside source.
