Pienaar

Ijjy and Dave, what would the two of you prefer, Pienaar or a Matty Phillips type and an Artetaesque signing. The second one for me.

I think it's a crap choice. I want all of them.

Pienaar, while vital to us, doesn't feel like a new signing. He doesn't add anything as I just see him as our player.
We need freshening up in all areas really. I don't mind Matty Phillips. He's alright (although I've heard Moyes prefers Tom Ince), and as the the player like Arteta, there is none that we can feasably afford.

I don't know if any of that made sense.

Newcastle got Cabaye for 4.3 mil last summer, so its possible

I believe we already had money for this signing and this signing alone. If we were to sell Yobo, that fee combined with Cahill money, would be enough to sign Moyes next target which is Landon Donovan. If that happens then great, but I think signing Naismith + re-signing Pienaar is a great summer for us so far, even though I'm disappointed to see Cahill go, I believe all things gone well, he will be back on loan in January where he will be fresh and able to make a positive impact for a couple of months. If we sell the likes of Heitinga or Anichebe, that will give us the kind of money to make a play for Dempsey, whether he'd come here over Liverpool is another thing, but if we have Landon and Tim Howard playing for us, it would not surprise me one bit to see him here, if we have made the sales I mentioned of course. That's the exact situation as I understand it.

I beleive the unveiling (if you can call it that) of Pienaar will be tomorrow. Thus proving the mullets are NOT back.

Thanks goodness.

Hope you are right about Donavan, Dempsey would be great but when have we ever beat the rs to a signing, Rodgers had come out and said he is after him, they can offer more wages, and uefa footie where we cant plus the lad had come out and said he would like to play in the Champion League but a CL club might not come in for him, so uefa football might be enough, he should see out his contract and he will get better offers.
