Pienaar

If the money was ringfenced it would have been done.

Don't be so naive.

We obviously don't have much cash and try to negotiate the cheapest, best deal for the club. And I imagine we can only afford a certain amount UPFRONT yes. Does not mean the deal wont be done or that we need to sell first.

Plus like bol just said, he's been on his holidays too.

I'm not saying there is no money mate but I suspect there isn't much . Signing pienaar from spurs would be a similar deal to signing say Rodallega except with a fee on top wouldn't it ? I don't know much about this at all except we like pienaar and he wants to come , if we can afford him I'd imagine the deal will be completed since its been 'close' since the end of the season hasnt it ? I'm not being negative just adding maybe a touch of realism , let's hope we have got the money is be delighted .

Steven P needs to be an everton player - that is a given and we may not be able to afford the whole fee and require a downpayment but if we knew all this since the start of the summer then why have we been speaking to other players when the money was,nt avaiable for multiple purchases or fees on top of frees. Sure you could say, look lets speak to players with a vew to a purchase if we can shift a few out the door but then what happens, players don,t get sold, talks drag on and then the player and agent move on.

This is not about Steven P but about the way we are going about our business n the transfer window with other targerts.

For me some of what has taken place this summer smacks of the same tactics employed in TFW of the past.

I presume you are refering to the players we are STRONGLY linked to each year but that never materialise and the money disapears. I agree, there have been many players who were on the werge of signing then go elsewhere for a fee thus, indicating that we had the money in the first place only for it to vanish and no similar player be bought.

WEIRD AND FRUSTRATING

Yes mate - I would however change weird and frustrating to Calculated and Dissapointing, so far.

Apparently two medicals have been penned in this week, my guess would be Katidis and Pienaar.

Pienaar will definitely be with the squad for the trip to Indonesia, is what I would gather from all this. It has also been said by LCAB on twitter that in the next few days something will happen with that one, the other thing was someone asked him if anything may be going on further down the road and he said yes, so I believe this will remain an intriguing summer post the signing of Pienaar, especially if we can clear Yobo and Vic off the books.

Disagree, i believe once Pienaar is done that'll be our business concluded in or out
