Rodders is still a kid.
Other than the very best kid's form tends to be two steps forward one step back,as was felli.
Seen enough in Rodwell to suggest he will become a very good player for us.

think we all have but the point is he now needs to be showing it consistently, we been saying he will be next best thing since rooney for the past 3-4 seasons.

Yep,i fully understand people expecting him to be consistent cos he seems to have been around for a long time.
For me he was probably blooded too young.
There's not many 21 year olds pulling up trees week after week in the premier league.
Just think we are expecting too much from him too soon.
The ability is there it just needs time.

Joking aren't you? we're getting pienaar anyway so it feels like a straight swap, defoe for rodwell. So no for me.

yeah but we're paying £5m or thereabouts for Pienaar. So its get Pienaar for £5m and keep Rodwell, or get Pienaar and Defoe for Rodwell with no cash involved and spend that £5m elsewhere.

I'm sure blue fox posted that the fee in the media will be a lot more than what we actually pay, but even at 5 mill I wouldn't do the swap. I know where your coming from but I think defoes best days are behind him and I like the idea of Rodwell, Barkley and maybe a few others breaking into the team & transforming us into back to back champs league winners.

He looked boss when they were down to ten men mate in fairness. I like the lid but he's got zero snide about him and it shows. He just ambles his way through a game when he should be dominating them. Very frustrating.
This. Someone should smash his bird or something to bring out the beast in him. He's too nice. Technically and Physically he's got it all.

Toffees close on Pienaar deal
Midfielder set for return

Everton and Tottenham have opened talks over Steven Pienaar, Sky Sports can confirm.

The South African midfielder finished last season back at Goodison Park on loan, and he remains a hugely popular figure at the club.

Everton were reluctant sellers when he moved to Tottenham in 2011 and he was never able to command a regular first-team place under Harry Redknapp.

Now Everton have made their move to bring the 30-year-old back to the club on a permanent basis.

It is believed a deal of around £5million is close, with Everton hopeful of tying up the move next week.

Sky sports only confirm a long time after we already know about something that has happened, wont forget when they went to the reporter at WHL at 11.19pm and the reporter said that they heard nothing about pienaar and that he was staying there, only for a few minutes later to say we signed him on loan last jan, even though the lads on here said it was done just about in time before sky said it.
